About the role:
As a Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for managing maintenance of all warehouse related equipment such as conveyor – and storage systems (Vanderlande/ Swisslog) and packing (Packsize) machines. Manages internal maintenance team and external equipment vendors in order to ensure the required uptime of the equipment. Act as a service provider for the operations department and work closely with operations, engineering and technology SME's. Coordinate new installations and documentation.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Supervises, leads and provides direction to technicians and maintenance engineers;
  • Manage team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources;
  • Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance in order to ensure uptime target and within the response times agreed;
  • Analyze maintenance processes and identify problems and provide direction and coaching for continuous improvement projects and cost reductions using the Boston Essentials (guidelines) and tools;
  • Develop and maintain equipment KPI's/ metrics. Reports summary performance to senior management and elevates appropriately;
  • Plans, budgets, and schedules equipment modifications and upgrades including collecting requirements, developing SOW, and developing estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs;
  • Maintain service level agreements, check adherence to these agreements and where needed ensures action plans are in place with external vendors;
  • Responsible for developing the strategic direction.  Contributes to goals of the equipment maintenance department to ensure alignment with corporate and site objectives;
  • Manages department budget activities.  Manage capital expenditure requests for equipment related expenditures;
  • Demonstrates adept project management skills, including project chartering, timeline development and management of deliverables;
  • Leads or supports new equipment installation;
  • Ensures proper setup and usage of maintenance software systems (e.g. BMRAM);
  • Ensures proper documentation of all equipment and maintenance records;
  • Develop and maintain internal systems to ensure compliance with quality standards (FDA, cGMP, QSR, ISO) and be the maintenance subject matter expert (SME) for internal and external audits.  Implement corrective actions as assigned.  Specific areas of compliance responsibility include all sort of maintenance, employee/contractor training, and supplier controls related to maintenance contractors and vendors;
  • Interacts with peers and managers to ensure expected service;
  • Fosters a culture of compliance by operating within guidelines and procedures, leading by example, and focusing on risk assessment and elimination;
  • Understands and proactively follows through on the Environmental Management Procedures that have been identified as relevant to position.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Completed technical (mechanical, electrical, installation) education and preferably supplemented by a technical business education;
  • At least 5 years of experience within the field of industrial automation;
  • Experience in managing a team of direct reports and external vendors;
  • Leadership skills like ability to connect & collaborate, leading by example, open for ideas but decisive, agile & flexible, coach and motivate others;
  • Excellent stakeholder management (both internal and external) and communications skills in English and Dutch;
  • Ability to develop a maintenance strategy for 3-5 years;
  • Project management skills to lead projects and collaborate towards achievable deadlines and successful deliverables;
  • Continuous improvement mindset and understanding of problem-solving tools;
  • Energetic team player with result driven mindset.
