About the role:

Performs a variety of complex duties in general accounting such as analyzing accounts, preparing reports, reconciling intercompany accounts, performing the monthly financial close and consolidation, ex- internal reporting, monitoring SOX requirements, contact person for Audits, maintaining fixed assets and CIP, manufacturing/plant accounting and maintaining & performing software interfaces with SAP (Hyperion). Measures performance against key performance indicators and metrics, and continually identifies ways to improve and streamline processes.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Execute month/quarter/year-end Close processes to ensure timely and accurate Close and financial reports preparation.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information through preparation of reports, general ledger entries and journal entries.
  • Assures financial accuracy by preparing balance sheets and other accounting statements and reports. Participates in the balance sheet review meetings.
  • Establishes and communicates accounting policies by maintaining a thorough understanding of GAAP and new accounting guidance as appropriate.
  • Takes an active interest in seeking opportunities for continuous improvement, standardizing processes across multiple legal entities.
  • Applies LEAN methodologies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.
  • Supports internal and external audits and audit-related accounting matters (SOX).
  • Works to deliver upon key performance metrics and service levels agreed with business partners (KPI).
  • Works closely with the local finance team and outsourced providers in order to deliver the range of accounting services required.
  • Serves as an example and provides support to the less experienced staff, as well as supports the management team in various projects.
  • Ad hoc duties in line with overall responsibilities.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor or Master Financial accounting or Business Economics
  • 5+ years working experience in a relevant position
  • Experience with plant/manufacturing accounting is preferred
  • Understanding of more complex accounting processes and regulations, e.g. related to inventory
  • Fluent in English, any additional European language is a plus
  • Personality with good social skills, team player, committed, strong communicator
  • Continues Improvement attitude
  • SAP/ERP experience and good Excel would be an advantage
  • Experience with SOX and internal controls is a plus
