Job Purpose:
Supervises the inspection and test functions in Quality Operations, including sterility inspection, incoming inspection, and in process inspection; Manages shipping holds; controls inventory locations for pre-released products, quarantine, releases new products per instructions from the BSC manufacturing plants; addresses non-conforming materials from the inspection functions; controls quality records. Supervisory responsibilities for the Quality Inspectors. Collaborates with Quality management to recommend, design and implement functional process improvements.  Develops, establishes and maintains quality methodologies, systems and practices which meet BSC, customer and regulatory requirements. 


In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.


Your responsibilities include:

  • Supervises a team of Quality Inspectors responsible for the execution of routine quality inspection and release activities.
  • Coordinates the work activities within the team and ensures adequate resources are available to meet quality and business requirements.
  • Provides team direction and support based on general policies and management guidance.
  • Recommends and implements process improvements regarding inspection and release processes including new technology implementation.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to support special projects and change management activities.
  • Demonstrates leadership and serves as a quality representative for the department in all internal and external audits as functional expert.
  • Develops, maintains, and communicates metrics to appropriate management to drive continuous quality and efficiency improvements throughout the department.
  • Collects, analyses and trends quality indicator data in support of Quality Management Review goals and objectives.
  • Manages and plans day to day operational expenditure and associated Annual Operational Plan.
  • Champions continuous improvement, problem solving, 5S and innovation within the Quality Operations Department.
  • Understands and utilizes problem solving methodologies; (CAPA, Is/Is not diagram/Fishbone diagram, Pareto, FMEA).
  • Provide functional support as a SME as applicable to internal & external functions.
  • Collaborates and liaises with the Global Quality Systems Steward and relevant working groups regarding the impacts of enhancements and process changes.
  •  Is the backup for the Quality Manager.


What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years’ experience with bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Comprehensive understanding of the QSR, cGMP and ISO/MDD standards
  • Experience in leading a team of 5+ personnel
  • Demonstrates knowledge in teamwork, project management, problem solving and risk management techniques
  • Effective team member, fully motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practices in line with the department & global objectives
  • Good social and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills, eager to improve and results oriented
  • Good knowledge of the English language (verbal and written)
  • Experience in medical devices is a plus
