About the role as Supply Chain Analyst:

We, Boston Scientific, is growing and therefore we are in need to recruit an additional member to our EU Freight team. In this role you will analyze transportation processes, including carrier selection, transit times, freight management and identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. You will work to gather transportation data, including transit times, carrier performance, and historical shipping records. Using statistical analysis, you will identify patterns and trends that may contribute to the delays and/or invoicing inaccuracies.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Extract independently relevant data and gain insights into the transportation activities out of BSC and carrier ERP systems.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as the Warehouse, Dispatch, Expediting, Inbound & Outbound to adjust receiving schedules and manage receiving levels during the recovery period.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Should be able to perform basic data analysis, create reports, and manage assigned country carrier performance. Should be comfortable using functions, formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization techniques.
  • Familiar with SAP Master Data functions. Basic knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Python's to identify trends, and create visualizations/dashboards for reporting.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to evaluate alternative carriers and negotiate more favorable contracts.
  • Identify cost drivers & cost-saving opportunities by analyzing spend data. Pinpoint areas where savings can be achieved.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Assess transportation costs and identify opportunities for network optimization.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate shipments, optimizing routes, explore alternative transportation modes etc.
  • Gather data on order fulfillment performance, including order cycle time, order delivery performance, damage, and customer complaints from different sources (internal (SAP) and external.
  • Through data analysis, identify areas that require improvement, such as bottlenecks in the process or frequent errors in order processing.
  • Stablish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the order fulfillment process.
  • Conduct a root cause analysis to identify the underlying reasons for inefficiencies or errors in the order fulfillment process. This involves analyzing data, interviewing stakeholders, and using tools such as fishbone diagrams or 5 Whys analysis to uncover the root causes.
  • Member of projects or sub-projects that are cross-functional and cross-network in nature. Directly responsible for actions and analysis to achieve results.  Executes to project plans (including contingency planning) for projects with direction.  Demonstrates accountability for action items and data provide. May lead or co-lead a smaller project with support from more senior staff.

 


Who are we looking for:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within a supply chain/demand planning environment
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business or supply Chain or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
  • Familiar withTableau, Power BI, or Python's
  • Good analytics and system skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Continuous improvement attitude
  • Speaks fluently English.
  • Executes independently.

 

This role starts with a fixed term-contract role (18-24 months) and you can work hybrid (60-40%) from our European Distribution Center located in Kerkrade- The Netherlands.
