About the role:
As a key member of the Global Trade Compliance team, this role supports Boston Scientific's global compliance objectives by leading and enhancing trade compliance programs, with a strong focus on the EMEA region.
You will serve as the primary contact for import and export compliance, manage government inquiries, and help ensure business continuity by aligning with corporate trade compliance strategies. This is a highly visible and strategic role, ideal for a compliance professional with deep expertise in international trade regulations and cross-functional influence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Actively supporting the development and implementation of a global trade compliance program
- Leading the continued development and execution of an EMEA trade compliance program
- Serving as the EMEA trade compliance representative and subject matter expert
- Managing trade compliance operations and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
- Applying deep knowledge of import and export regulations to maintain compliance across EMEA countries
- Defining, documenting, and conducting trade compliance audits and corrective action processes
- Enhancing internal and external processes to ensure adherence to EU and international regulations
- Providing operational training to teams including Logistics, Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Distribution
- Supporting product classification activities and ensuring the accuracy of classification data
- Ensuring compliance with import/export special programs such as GSP, NAFTA, strategic goods, 9801/2 & duty drawback, and airline security
- Determining country of origin and ensuring appropriate product marking
- Establishing and maintaining brokerage services aligned with business needs
What we are looking for:
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in trade compliance, including customs process execution and brokerage oversight
- In-depth knowledge of international customs regulations, procedures, and documentation
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work cross-functionally, influence without authority, and manage through change
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with SAP GTS
- Exposure to or involvement in AI implementations within compliance or trade systems
