About the role:

Works directly with internal organizations, freight forwarders and customs brokers to facilitate import and export processes, with primary focus on import cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce an administering the direct representation documentation. Responds to inquiries for Boston Scientific subsidiaries and independent suppliers.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Provides assistance and consults with Boston Scientific locations to ensure compliant and accurate Customs declarations.
  • Works with suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies to identify and resolve Customs clearance issues, including, but not limited to: Harmonized Tariff Classification, Valuation, and documentation concerns.
  • Follow up as needed on uncleared declaration relating to exports and imports ensuring compliance with clearance procedures.
  • Assists in administering and reviewing direct representation authorizations and service agreements with customs brokers.
  • Administer long term vendor declarations, including, but not limited to: Soliciting vendor for declaration, creating declarations as the supplier for our customer, reviewing for accuracy and compliance, maintaining on-going solicitation status, depositing at Chamber of Commerce, and liaising with Customer Service and the Chamber of Commerce to resolve any issues or concerns.
  • Supports Global Trade Compliance with necessary reports, research, and recordkeeping tasks.
  • Maintains applicable Classifications databases as directed by team members.
  • Performs other duties and projects as required.


What we are looking for in you:

  • Recognized declarant training (f.e. EvoFenedex) or similar background
  • At least three years of experience in Customs & Trade Compliance
  • Excellent command of the Dutch and English language is a must
  • Work experience in medical device industry is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Good verbal, writing and documentation skills
  • Good analytical skills
