About the role:
We are looking for a part-time (20 hours) experienced accountant that is a subject matter expert in the field of revenue recognition. You are the specialist for several key accounting processes in the region and the point of contact for EMEA stakeholders. The senior accountant performs a variety of complex duties in revenue accounting for the EMEA region, focused on month-end close activities, analyzing and reconciling accounts, monitoring SOX/internal control requirements and supporting (internal and external) audits. It is expected that you work independent, pro-actively identify ways to improve, streamline and standardize processes. You operate within a multi-cultural, diverse and inclusive driven team.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Execute month/quarter/year-end Close processes to ensure timely and accurate Close and financial reports preparation for revenue recognition topics under your responsibility. 
  • Oversee financial and accounting process and work closely together with finance teams and GBS teams, with a high focus on controlling balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Optimize current financial accounting process in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Comply with KPI’s and OPIs as defined by GBS.
  • Drive compliance in all finance-related matters and ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements and GAAP principles.
  • Support internal and external audits and audit-related accounting matters (SOX, Global Internal Audit).
  • Apply LEAN methodologies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.
  • Participate in implementing quality requirements in all aspects of the financial process.
  • Identify and implement process improvement and standardization.
  • Ensure all activities comply with legal demands, ethical standards and the Internal Quality Management System.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Financial accounting or Business Economics
  • 5+ years experience
  • SAP and Hyperion experience, Cadency experience is a plus
  • Fluent in English, additional language capabilities are a plus 
  • Experience with US GAAP and SOX are a plus
  • DE&I minded individual
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills and focus on building relationships 
  • Self-motivated yet team player and takes ownership in all responsibilities
  • Change agent that focuses on a high level of quality 
  • Continuous Improvement and analytical mindset
  • Role to be filled at Senior Accountant level with demonstrable experience and skillset
