Purpose Statement

Provides support to Principal Financial Planning & Analysis, ASEAN, to achieve the overall goals and objectives of Boston Scientific through the effective planning analysis and reporting activities including variance, comparative and trend analysis for divisional sales, gross margins and sales commissions


Key Responsibilities

  • P&L and working capital coverage across multiple countries and divisions within ASEAN.
  • Provide support for all Financial Planning and Analysis activities within ASEAN: Actively partner and co-ordinate with country FP&A during the annual budgeting, strategy planning & quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Analyses ASEAN performance trends and provides commentary on sales, operating expenses, pricing impact and other key financial parameters to regional FP&A.
  • Monitor and measure divisional business performance to ensure maximization of opportunities to meet or exceed targets; Provide guidance/advice ASEAN commercial team to ensure performance targets are achieved.
  • Act as primary finance business partner to emerging market (Myanmar, Cambodia and Guam).
  • Assist regional FP&A in the execution of region wide or Corporate wide FP&A related initiatives. Represent ASEAN in regional and Corporate projects, as required. Ensure FP&A team is appropriately trained on all financial reporting systems.
  • Co-ordinate ASEAN sales target setting and review targets to ensure alignment with country objectives. Partner with ASEAN commercial team to review sales incentive program and provide guidance as appropriate.
  • Establish, maintain and/or leverage as appropriate information systems to support the FP&A process. Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity and analysis, increase efficiencies, manage costs and maintain state of the art practices.
  • Provides input to the Quality committee in finance specific issues, with the purpose of wither finding a solution form other countries' experiences or providing advice on potential barriers for other countries and local regulations. Drives compliance in all finance related matters (CA&C, SOX, Statutory, monthly Closing).  Participates in implementing Quality requirements in all aspects of the Finance Process.
  • Participates in driving quality awareness across FP&A function, partner with country FP&A towards improved performance and customer oriented initiatives

Qualifications and experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in finance or accounting, prior working experience with MNC preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a financial planning and analysis role in commercial environment.
  • Hyperion, Tableau, Essbase, SAP system experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, includes financial modelling.
  • Candidates from pharmaceutical, FMCG and IT background have added advantage
