Financial & Accounting Analyst

Location: in our offices in Madrid, on a hybrid working schedule (3 days/week in the office + 2 days/week working from home).
About the Role:
The Finance team at Boston Scientific Spain is seeking a Financial & Accounting Analyst to support key internal and external requirements within the local Accounting department. This role reports to the Spain Accounting Manager and plays a key role in financial reporting, compliance, tax management and process optimization while partnering with Global Business Services and cross-functional stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Balance sheet and assets management: Responsible for balance sheet reviews, account reconciliations and providing timely variance explanations.
- Planning: Participate in preparation of the Annual Operating Plan and support ongoing budget monitoring.
- Accounting: Support administration of accounts payable and local tax payments; assist with balance sheet allocation items in coordination with local and Global Business Services (GBS) teams. Post manual journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- STP: Assist in identifying invoice approvers, general ledger accounts and cost centers. Work closely with Procure-to-Pay (PTP) and Account-to-Report (ATR) teams within GBS to ensure accuracy and efficiency, acting as a liaison with divisions and functions.
- Withholding tax: Manage IRPF calculation and timely submission. Oversee payment and tax calculations, maintain supporting documentation and respond to tax authority notifications. Provide backup support for VAT reconciliations and submissions.
- TPI: Lead and coordinate with divisions in creating, tracking and closing Third-Party Intermediary contracts. Monitor proper TPI accounting, purchase order creation and required accruals.
- Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Analysis: Analyze accounts to identify cross-divisional improvement opportunities and deliver value-added insights.
- Control: Ensure all activities comply with SOX requirements, maintaining proper documentation and adherence to internal policies and external audit standards.
- Optimization: Take an active role in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and standardizing finance processes.
What are we looking for in you:
- We are looking for a professional with minimum of 6 years’ experience in Accounting, ideally within matrix structures in multinational companies; previous experience in Auditing is welcomed.
- Excellent skills in Excel (queries, macros, etc.).
- Knowledge of SAP 4HANA, Hyperion and Tableau is mandatory.
- Proven knowledge of AI applications in Finance, driving data-based insights and process optimization.
- English written and spoken is a must.
- Ability to work with several departments, keeping good interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
