About the role:
This role is responsible for developing and executing promotional plans for the Vascular Medical Education Team at Boston Scientific. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient care and excited to help create a strong brand around our professional education programs, including both digital and in-person physician training and education programs for Peripheral Artery Disease, Chronic Venous Insufficiency and Pulmonary Embolism. In this role, you’ll report into the broader marketing activation team, leveraging shared divisional resources for graphic design, social media and email and other digital channels.  You’ll independently support the medical education team, serving as the marketing and promotional expert to the team. You’ll work closely with medical education leadership to ensure alignment on quarterly priorities, driving key brand and promotional initiatives while reporting back to the team regularly on performance. You will own the promotional strategies for key programs as well as the development of the overall medical education brand for vascular, including development of plans, management of internal and external creative partners and the legal and regulatory approval processes.  In this role, you’ll work in a fast-paced market, with frequent late-breaking clinical data releases and product launches, aligning stakeholders behind strategy, developing tactical plans and creating content for social channels in support of communications and marketing objectives.

The ideal candidate for this role is independent, ambitious and looking to transform our customer perception of medical education. Experience developing campaign plans is a must, with a clear understanding of marketing activation and communications processes, including creative development, social strategies and digital programming. Experience with medical education or physician training programs is a plus, and the ability to create cohesive communication plans in partnership with the commercial team would add tremendous value.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Initiate and build comprehensive promotional plans for medical education programs, including content development, tactical plans and measurement
  • Serve as a marketing communications and digital subject-matter expert for the medical education team, working closely with them to enhance the awareness of program offerings
  • Research, write, and edit content, working with designers, subject matter experts and others to develop engaging content that grabs the attention of our target audiences
  • Learn and follow all regulatory, legal, clinical and compliance requirements related to promotional materials and social media, as outlined in applicable SOPs
  • Partner with outside vendors, corporate partners and peers within the company to expand skills and advance capabilities for the team
  • Manage outside vendors, including writers, designers, agencies and other suppliers in the delivery of content and key assets
  • Develop KPIs and regularly measure program performance
  • Innovate and drive breakthrough new programs – identify new channels, new suppliers and new digital tactics that transform the communications function and create a distinct competitive advantage
  • Act with a results-first mindset – be closely aligned with the business, act with a sense of urgency and drive measurable results
  • Create regular reports on campaign and channel performance, including recommendations for key stakeholders
  • Be flexible and always willing to take on more responsibility

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Minimum of 5 years of marketing/commercial experience including 3+ years of experience in marketing communications, activation or a similar role
  • The ideal candidate brings significant experience in both traditional integrated marketing communications and digital marketing/social media
  • Possess a clear commercial mindset and an understanding of how to translate commercial objectives to breakthrough social campaigns

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in healthcare, in medical device or in technical/physician training and education is a plus
  • Good communicator with proven ability to drive change and influence organizations 
  • Builds trust and can effectively collaborate across Product Marketing, Sales, IT, Corporate Communications, medical education and Legal, Regulatory and Finance
  • Fearlessly innovates - always looking to bring new ideas, drives innovation, encourages the team to learn fast and creates exceptional customer experiences
  • Must be able to effectively manage multiple projects, programs, people and drives clarity for the team on prioritization
  • Ability to engage and influence executive-level leadership

 

Work Mode:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
