Calibration Supervisor
About the Role:
Supervises Calibration Technician activities that directly or indirectly support production operations or test laboratories. Develops, establishes, and maintains calibration methodologies, systems, and practices which meet BSC, customer, and regulatory requirements. Identifies, coordinates, and assigns project priorities based on business and department objectives. Ensures implementation of assurances, process controls, and CAPA systems designed to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Leads daily operations of the calibration and metrology team, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of workflows aligned with core performance metrics and business objectives.
- Manages calibration staff through workforce planning, recruitment, scheduling, performance evaluation, training, recognition, and corrective action, while providing daily direction and support.
- Owns the calibration laboratory, including oversight of equipment, environmental controls, standards, and compliance readiness.
- Administers the equipment asset management system, maintaining accurate asset records, calibration schedules, change requests, and system configurations.
- Coordinates priority calibration work across technicians and stakeholders, ensuring timely execution and communication of urgent tasks and special projects.
- Applies technical expertise to support staff projects, resolve operational and organizational issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensures departmental policies and procedures align with corporate standards, including ISO 14001 and BSC Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
- Represents the calibration function in internal and external audits, including presenting processes, records, and compliance strategies to auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Assists in setting department goals, resource planning, and project assignments to meet strategic objectives.
- Develops cross-functional relationships and promotes team collaboration to achieve performance, training, and career development goals.
- Performs other responsibilities as required.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical or scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in calibration or metrology.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership, mentor, and/or training experience.
- Ability to supervise a team of calibration technicians (around 10 people).
- Experience coordinating schedules and workload for technicians.
- Comfortable with audit-facing responsibilities and representing the job function to auditors
Preferred Qualifications:
- Leadership background, including training, mentoring, or development experience (not necessarily formal supervisory title).
- Experience in quality and calibration fields.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
