About the role:

 

The Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for budgeting and project plans within the Clinical organization, while developing operational excellence and efficiencies to fuel the day-to-day operations of the team.

 

 

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and Execution: Implement clinical trial protocols in partnership with Clinical Trial Managers to ensure compliance with applicable regulations. Estimate project levels of efforts and resource requirements. Prepare project plans and schedules and track ongoing activities. Direct project execution and develop contingency plans as appropriate.
  • Process Development and Management:  Conduct on-going assessment of the current state process and procedures and their ability to meet agreed upon timelines and expectations.  Lead cross-functional process recommendations and projects to drive process improvements that will improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes.
  • Budget Management: Develop and forecast detailed study budgets: this should include all expenses related to global clinical trials such as vendors, personnel costs, equipment cost, travel expenses, etc. and global medical affairs budget to include programs, honoraria, grants, etc. implementing appropriate cost-saving measures and collaborating with key stakeholders as necessary for annual operating plan development and ongoing tracking. Monitoring and tracking of budgets on a consistent basis to quickly identify any (un)favorability.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance to all requirements of clinical trials by third party companies.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Oversee accuracy of trial metrics and management. Leverage existing internal systems and champion new processes to enable updating and tracking of project milestones, metrics, timelines, and other key data. Lead report generation, dashboard creation for presentation to senior management.
  • Risk Management: Develop and forecast detailed study budgets and departmental budget: this should include all expenses related to the clinical trial such as personnel costs, equipment cost, travel expenses, etc. Assist in identification of risks and potential issues as well as creation of mitigation strategies. Develop processes and mechanisms to ensure expedited communication and management of key issues as needed.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Responsible for communication with internal and external stakeholders. Develop strong partnership with colleagues and collaborate with trial managers and Dir. Of Clinical to fulfill business objectives.

 

 

What we're looking for in you:

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • 8 Years with bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education/work experience
  • Clinical trial and/or Project Management experience
  • Interacting with stakeholders and business colleagues to analyze and define business requirements and related project reporting, developing methodologies to create and enhance applications and tools
  • Ability to present to senior levels within the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Clinical or Financial planning systems experience
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS Project experience (optional / preferred)
  • PMP Certification (optional / preferred)
