About the role:

This Clinical Scientist II is pivotal in shaping and executing high-impact clinical trials that support the Interventional Cardiology team at Boston Scientific. The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert on clinical trial protocols, analyze data trends, and lead root cause investigations to ensure successful trial outcomes. This role will report to Fellow, Clinical Scientist in the Renal Denervation team.

 

Work Mode 
This is a hybrid position in the office minimum three days per week at our Maple Grove, MN or Marlborough, MA location.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the subject matter expert on clinical trial protocols, ensuring consistent and compliant execution across study sites.
  • Applies foundation and understanding of clinical research, data-driven strategy, and cross-functional collaboration to drive the successful execution of clinical trials
  • Contribute to the development of clinical trial documents including protocols, amendments, study reports, and publications by synthesizing scientific literature and clinical data.
  • Identify and communicate key trends in clinical trial data to cross-functional teams, supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Lead and support root cause analyses related to clinical events, driving resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Regulatory, Biostatistics, Medical Affairs) to provide clinical input on project deliverables and strategic plans.
  • Prepare and present scientific data and clinical results at internal meetings, industry conferences, and regulatory engagements.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, medical, or healthcare-related field
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years relevant experience with a Master’s, or 0 years with an advanced degree such as Ph.d degree
  • Ability to travel upto 25% domestically
  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical trial processes, regulatory standards (e.g., ICH-GCP, ISO 14155), and therapeutic area expertise
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to interpret complex clinical data

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Ph.D). in biomedical engineering, life sciences, or a related discipline
  • Prior experience in renal denervation or interventional cardiology clinical trials in medical device industry
  • Recognized as a technical expert across business functions with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience in medical device clinical research, including IDE or feasibility studies
  • Demonstrated scientific writing and communication skills, with ability to synthesize medical literature and present findings effectively

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
