About the role:

Boston Scientific is seeking a talented Business Data Analyst to guide the technical strategy and delivery of an innovative AI-driven contracting solution. The Business Data Analyst works closely with the Vascular Therapies and the Interventional Oncology & Embolization business units at Boston Scientific responsible for partnering with business partners to gather requirements, document and communicate requirements to the technical team, and test the solution as it’s developed. You will be a key team member with functional expertise, working to deliver high-quality data products leading to key dashboards and actionable insights.

 

This role is central to enabling success across teams—serving as the primary technical translator for business requirements, facilitating collaboration across integrated systems, and ensuring high-quality requirements are handed off for development.

 

Work Mode:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our Maple Grove, MN office at least three days per week.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

Requirements Management

  • Work with the divisional product owner and product manager to document functional business requirements.
  • Ensure the team can drive discovery, detailed requirements gathering, and estimation process quickly to clear the way for development teams’ success.
  • Decompose product vision into features and user stories, ensuring clarity and alignment with acceptance criteria.

Backlog Management

  • Help to refine and maintain the product backlog in Jira, including prioritization of features and user stories, linking to dependencies, and traceability to test steps/cases.
  • Raise potential blockers/risks to stakeholders and define resolution plans.

Agile Development Team Management

  • Play a key role on Agile teams, participating in daily activities and onsite collaboration.
  • Facilitate release planning, sprint demos, and daily standups with Agile development team.

Test Execution

  • Collaborate with testing teams to develop test scenarios and validate that solutions meet business requirements.
  • Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and facilitate feedback loops to refine solutions.

Reporting and Communications

  • Develop and maintain KPIs and quantitative measures of product success for diverse stakeholders.
  • Create and share structured status reports, dashboards, and Smartsheet updates.
  • Report on divisional program status up to Global team at various governance meetings.
  • Deliver strategic presentations, including executive-level decks, to communicate progress and outcomes.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with a focus on information technology or related discipline strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working in IT delivering software and or data and analytics solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
  • Proven experience collaborating across multiple teams, technologies, and stakeholders to deliver digital capabilities.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment.
  • Experience working in databases, analytics teams, big data, AWS or Snowflake.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and integrity.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and data analysis software (e.g., SQL, Python).

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the healthcare industry with the medical device industry is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Agile planning and development methodologies and methods to drive analytics programs and data-driven services.
  • Self-motivated and can work independently.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
