The Data Operations Manager is responsible for managing the processes and people responsible for accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting. This position will lead all external reporting, including designing and maintaining operations and manufacturing partner reports and dashboards. The ideal candidate has a drive to understand our business and an ability to communicate complex subjects in a manner that is easily understood by others. They will ensure data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures for analytics employees to follow. The Data & Analytics Manager will also oversee the data/report request process, tracking requests submitted, prioritization and approval.


Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Functional Manager for a feature team consisting of 4-8 software engineers and data engineers.
  • Develops and communicates analytics priorities across the company by collaboration and building consensus.
  • Responsible for shepherding desired business outcomes from concept through technology delivery by shaping both business and technical requirements, understanding competitive information, and translating to roadmaps and deliverables.
  • Write epics and detailed user stories for the engineering and design teams to fully understand the scope of functionality and business drivers, so they can estimate and deliver in a timely manner with high quality.
  • Partner with the internal data teams to prioritize and execute products and programs as required by the business.
  • Deliver advanced modeling that deliver actionable insights to our engineering teams.
  • Serve as the key driver behind our unified analytics platform and serve as a bridge to the business.
  • Provide ongoing updates to leadership on the evolving data and analytics landscape.
  • Prioritize features and define requirements for successful delivery
  • Deeply understands customers, technology, and competition, and synthesizes into the operational product roadmaps driving business outcomes through technology enablement and innovation.
  • Evaluating projects in terms of value/cost to align with business strategy and objectives.
  • Balance and understand trade-offs of developing specific or general solutions that can leveraged across multiple areas of Boston Scientific’s business. 
  • Build, develop and maintain reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support reporting for clients and partners.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics. Facilitate input from key internal and external stakeholders to ensure reporting meets client needs.
  • Recruit, train, develop and supervise analyst-level employees.
  • Ensure accuracy of data and deliverables of reporting employees with comprehensive policies and processes.
  • Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining, and engineering as well as modeling, visualization, and communication.
  • Examine, interpret and report results of analytical initiatives to stakeholders in leadership, technology, sales, marketing, and product teams.
  • Oversee the data/report requests process: tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, etc..
  • Develop and implement quality controls and departmental standards to ensure quality standards, organizational expectations, and contractual requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
  • Organize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective management of analyst and data employees and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Communicate results and business impacts of insight initiatives to stakeholders within and outside of the company. • Proactively seek opportunities to automate and improve processes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience communicating and influencing through data
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical projects from concept to deployment.
  • The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of relevant product/project management experience
  • Good understanding of data and analytics development process with an appreciation for maintaining a high-quality bar with low operational overhead.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to prioritize projects and get commitments from internal stakeholders, no limited to quality, manufacturing and leaders at multiple levels across operations.
  • Ability to partner with and influence remote teams.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Advanced project management and risk mitigation skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and project reporting skills.
  • Strong bias for action with an ability to operate in a fast-paced environment..
