About this role:

 

Boston Scientific is seeking a Data Science Fellow to serve as a senior technical and strategic leader supporting the global organization. This role is responsible for driving the adoption of artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and data science across diverse functions and business areas in Boston Scientific. This role will help lead the integration and application of AI and data strategies with high-value insights that inform strategy, accelerate innovation, and enhance operational performance.

They champion responsible, scalable, and impactful data-driven solutions that strengthen decision-making, improve efficiency, and create new opportunities for value and competitive advantage across the enterprise.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Shape and lead the enterprise AI and data science strategy, aligning technology investments and analytical capabilities with long-term business priorities and innovation goals
  • Accelerate adoption of AI, ML, and data-driven tools across global engineering, manufacturing, clinical, quality, supply chain, commercial, and operational teams
  • Identify high-impact opportunities for AI-enabled value creation, partnering with leaders to scope use cases, define success criteria, and guide end-to-end execution
  • Influence decision-making at senior levels by presenting clear, compelling analytical strategies; capability roadmaps; and business cases that illustrate value and risk
  • Build organizational readiness for data solutions through change leadership, cross-functional alignment, and development of standards for data governance, model validation, and ethical AI
  • Develop enterprise-level frameworks for data architecture, model deployment, and scalable analytics platforms in collaboration with IT, data engineering, and digital teams
  • Serve as the company-wide expert and internal consultant for emerging AI and Data Science technologies, advanced modeling approaches, and modern analytical methodologies
  • Engage and lead global networks and partnerships with academic institutions, AI vendors, research collaborators, and cross-industry consortia to stay ahead of emerging trends
  • Mentor and elevate analytical talent across teams, building a strong community of practice and enhancing analytical capabilities globally
  • Communicate complex concepts with clarity, enabling executives and functional leaders to understand and confidently support AI-driven initiatives
  • Drive enterprise impact by ensuring AI and data science solutions are implemented responsibly, deliver measurable outcomes, and support patient safety and product innovation

 

Required qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, statistics, data science, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional, industry experience pioneering technology advancement, ideally (but not needed to be exclusively) in data science, AI/ML, or advanced analytics initiatives in a complex, global, or regulated environment
  • Strong understanding of AI governance, model lifecycle management, data quality, and ethical AI considerations
  • Expertise with modern ML/AI platforms, architectures, and data ecosystems; ability to evaluate emerging tools and technologies
  • Experience working with large datasets and accessing and combining data across multiple systems
  • Demonstrated success driving organizational adoption of technologies and shaping long-term data and digital strategy at an enterprise level
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and align diverse global stakeholders, including executives, technical teams, and operational leaders
  • Ability to interface effectively with internal stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical audiences

 

Preferred qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree in data science, computer science, engineering, statistics, biomedical informatics, or related quantitative field
  • Strong global mindset with experience collaborating across cultures, geographies, and disciplines
  • Track record of delivering high-impact business solutions that drive measurable business value

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
