We are seeking a motivated Data Scientist I to join our dynamic team within the Process Development division. As a Data Scientist I, you will work closely with senior data scientists and engineers to help leverage data analytics to drive insights, inform decision-making processes, derive actionable insights, and optimize performance within our medical device organization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to assist in the development and implementation of data analytics solutions that support our mission of delivering high-quality products and improving patient outcomes.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Assess manufacturing processes for automation and analytics opportunities.
  • Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity.
  • Develop and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques to analyze data.
  • Assist in designing and conducting experiments to test hypotheses and validate models.
  • Generate and visualize insights from data analysis, creating detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Prepares and presents technical data and recommendations at technical reviews.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the performance of existing models and algorithms.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and healthcare technology.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 0 - 2 years of experience in the medical device space.
  • Bachelors degree in Data Science.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization.
  • Previous internship experience with Boston Scientific.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Python programming language as well as other languages (e.g. R, Matlab, Julia, C++, Java, etc.)
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn, or similar.
  • Excellent familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or similar.
  • Robust understanding of large language models (LLM) and frameworks including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). (e.g. LangChain, LlaMA, GPT, Bard, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics techniques.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Basic understanding of database management systems.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
