Director, Global Enterprise Excellence, Global Supply Chain

Hybrid role with flexibility to reside near following locations: Maple Grove, MN , Arden Hills, MN  Ireland - Galway, Ireland - Cork, Nederland BV, Ireland--Clonmel , Puerto Rico , Heredia, Costa Rica, Coyol, Costa Rica , Marlborough, MA , Quincy/Marina Bay, Spencer, IN


Purpose Statement

Provide leadership, vision, and direction for Boston Scientific’s Global Supply Chain Enterprise Excellence operating system to fund journey to fuel growth and achieve strategic plan gross margin goals.

Key Responsibilities



  • Steward of BSC’s Enterprise Excellence operating system to drive enterprise-wide processes, operating systems and capabilities to achieve the highest gross margin in the industry.
  • Partner with Global Supply Chain leaders in Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific to identify best-in-class strategic improvements across Delivering Excellence operating system and EssentialsTM best practices methodologies.
  • Inspire a global continuous improvement culture by deploying process improvement and operational excellence toolkits across the enterprise.
  • Build a strong pipeline of value improvement projects across the enterprise to achieve best-in-class rates of improvement annually. Evolve value improvement dashboards.
  • Global operational and functional Excellence steward for Lean (manufacturing) and Lean Business Process (non-manufacturing) Continuous Improvement Essentials and toolkits. Collaborate globally with site/functional leadership teams in Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific to utilize the Lean/LBP EssentialsTM Model to assess performance, identify opportunities, eliminate waste and sustain improvements.  Mature and continuously improve global Core Metrics, Work Content Graph, Standard Work, Continuous Improvement Board system, Problem Solving & Process Improvement roadmaps, Event Charts, Lean Reviews, Leadership Standard Work, Process Mapping, and Strategic Assessments toolkits.
  • Global Management Systems steward for Corrective Action/Preventive Action, Sales Inventory & Operating Plan, New Product, Value Improvement Project and Strategic Activity Review EssentialsTM and toolkits. Collaborate globally with site/functional leadership teams in Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific to utilize, mature and continuously improve the Management Systems EssentialsTM to prioritize, manage and execute our work. 
  • Global Functional Excellence steward for Production, Engineering, Process Development, EH&S, etc. Essentials and toolkits. Collaborate globally with site/functional leadership teams in Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific to utilize, mature and continuously improve the Functional Excellence EssentialsTM used to identify the global standards and best practices to improve as a function.
  • Provide operational and functional excellence leadership to Global Enterprise Excellence Process Improvement, Engineering and leadership teams in Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
  • Partner with external organizations to foster continued learning, benchmarking, and operational best practices. Identify, drive and share internal/external benchmarking opportunities to improve BSC's enterprise excellence operating model and toolkits.
  • Transform global Essential’s training curriculum to a blended learning platform and explore new innovations to transform curated leadership learning.
  • Optimizing Gross Margin: Support cross-functional Gross Margin programs across global divisions to achieve strategic plan goals. 
  • Partner with supply chain, R&D, divisions, and global functions to identify opportunities to drive substantial improvements in OCOGS.
  • Provide project management support where needed for enterprise-wide programs.
  • Continuously evolve methods to inspire and engage Enterprise Excellence ecosystem through effective communication channels (e.g. forums, website, bots, newsletter, etc.)
  • Inspire excellence by sponsoring Recognize Success recognition programs across Global Supply Chain and support achievement of industry awards.
  • Lead various leadership forums to drive Enterprise Excellence
  • Provide global stewardship for key global policies (e.g. QI, Accountability, and Quality First Incentive Plan).

  • Process Knowledge: Demonstrated experience and/or deep knowledge of Operational and Functional Excellence
  • Process Management: Comprehensive experience in delivering operational and functional excellence improvements across diverse customers.
  • Diversity: Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all employees to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Budget: May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Production or Engineering Management
  • 10+ years experience in Operational Excellence, and/or Engineering
