About the role: 
The Director of CRM Skills Training, Digital Education, and HCP Contracting will oversee three areas within the education space. Responsibilities include development and execution of Healthcare Practitioner (HCP) skills training for CRM therapies, in collaboration with Boston Scientific Compliance. This role has management responsibility and accountability for the annual operating plan (AOP) and Strat Plan (5 year strategy) budgeting processes, including identifying and advocating for training resources (people and capabilities) to ensure the team is resourced appropriately to execute on objectives in support of new product launches and indication/labeling expansion. The Director will lead the Skills Training team to drive successful development & execution of in-person skills-based HCP programs, while also working in close collaboration with the EDUCARE team to develop learning journeys and on-demand education aligned with strategic medical education initiatives. 

 

Cardiology Group (CG) Shared Functions: includes Interventional Cardiology/Structural Heart (ICTx), AF Solutions (WATCHMAN, EP and Access Solutions) & CRM/Diagnostics (Dx).

  • Manage the Digital Education team which operates across the Cardiology Group EDUCARE platform including site functionality, external and internal communications, content analytics, launch timelines/milestones and content creation and management. Also leading development of the digital strategy and manage the roadmap for EDUCARE and all CG global medical education platforms. This role also oversees development of education-focused processes and analytics using Sales Force (SFDC). Collaborate with the corporate EDUCARE Center of Excellence (COE) for functionality enhancement requirements to continuously improve the platform and user experience. 
  • Oversee HCP Contracting for the Cardiology Group, responsible for ensuring that all HCP engagements are executed to meet the organization's needs and compliance requirements in respect to medical education and training, sales training, marketing, and R&D initiatives. Collaborate with HCP Compliance to ensure smooth execution of the annual needs assessment process, fair market value (FMV) model assessment and implementation, and HCP contracting process and creation. Partner with the corporate Engage team to ensure compliant system processes and high-quality HCP facing documentation. 

 

Promote a diverse and inclusive team culture and foster talent development across all managers & individual contributors. This role must ensure alignment with all corporate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), monitor and maintain Compliance, and uphold the Boston Scientific Code of Conduct and US HCP Interactions. This role reports to the Vice President of Professional Education, AF Solutions and CRMDx. 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee development of educational strategies and implementation of HCP training programs to support therapy adoption, improve technical proficiency, and increase patient access to care. 
  • Identify and engage collaborative internal & external partnerships to enhance educational initiatives and advance the appropriate application of therapies that provide life enhancing, life saving outcomes. 
  • Define curriculums by assessing and analyzing HCP requirements and training needs, aligning with organizational objectives and initiatives, and developing technology/therapy content in partnership with expert faculty consultants.
  • Ensure launch readiness for all new product launches in line with business unit objectives and expectations, for immediate integration into the educational continuum of programs. 
  • Define and implement measurements of success (KPIs) to evaluate & demonstrate good patient outcomes as well as the impact of training curriculum/programs. 
  • Work collaboratively and maintain a high level of communication with cross functional partners and commercial leadership by participating in various franchise management and strategic meetings representing the Professional Education team. 
  • Continually evolve and innovate skills training resource capabilities to ensure state-of-the-art hands-on modalities across the entire CRMDx portfolio. Collaborate with peer Directors and the Instructional Design Fellow to evaluate and leverage new technical resources/vendors to support both needs for in-person and remote training, ie: remote broadcast, 3D anatomical modeling, simulation, virtual reality, etc. This collaboration extends across instructional design, curriculum design, and operational efficiences. Engage identified HCPs to demonstrate the clinical outcome and benefits of BSC technologies and therapies in the exhange of clinical, safety and comparative-effectiveness information, to explore training areas of need, and to discuss new/innovative initiatives. 
  • Support development of key opinion leaders (KOLs), expert speakers, and well-known academicians who can deliver the defined curriculum as well as provide technical and clinical insight with real-world applications for digital, virtual and in-person local and national programs. 

 

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in medical device industry or related field, advanced degree preferred 
  • Background/training in CRM procedures, technical knowledge – cardiac devices, pacing, heart failure, tachy, and diagnostics 
  • Knowledge in education website strategy and functionality or desire to acquire 
  • Strategic thinking with appetite for innovation and continuous learning in Medical Education design and delivery 
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with KOLs/physician customers 
  • Strong leadership skills, people management experience, and program management 
  • Effective collaboration & communication skills with senior leadership and cross functional peers 
  • Ability to project manage across diverse focus areas
