About the role:
The Medical Affairs & Education Director will be responsible for the creating, directing and leading the development and execution of novel and innovative physician education programs on the safe and effective use of BSC technologies and therapies for Interventional Cardiologists, Fellows and allied healthcare professionals. Will develop clinical education strategies, and implement educational programs to support product education, data education, and therapy awareness for Health Care Providers (HCPs). You will identify and engage HCPs and professional medical societies through collaborative partnerships to enhance educational initiatives, to advance the appropriate application of therapies that provide life enhancing outcomes, to expand the clinical data in support of our products and therapies, and to advise BSC on matters of strategic importance across the Interventional Cardiology Therapies (ICTx) division encompassing Coronary Therapies, Structural Heart Valves and Interventional Heart Failure. You will also support the planning and execution of the Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) Program in the US, under the guidance of the VP of Medical Affairs and Medical Education and ISR program Chair.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage the team: recruit talent into the team, provide direction to staff, evaluate employee performance and provide regular feedback coaching employees and engaging in career development.
- Lead employees in the achievement of organizational goals. Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and drive those practices throughout the organization.
- Develop and execute education strategies and activities supporting organizational objectives.
- Oversee “Educare” initiatives in digital education.
- Support planning and execution of US trials part of the Investigator-Sponsored Research (ISR) program.
- Oversee the Research and Education Grants Committee and related operations.
- Identify and develop relevant partnerships with the key opinion leaders and professional specialty societies through collaborative partnerships.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with company policy and produces with particular attention to HCP Global Compliance guidance.
- Leverage recourses, expertise and knowledge across projects and programs.
- Direct and control the activities and budget of the functional area.
- Promote strong collaboration across functions.
- Advance the “voice” of the clinical functions to align with the ICTx business strategies.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required and 10+ years of experience in Medical Affairs and/or Medical Education
- 5+ years of clinical experience in Interventional Cardiology
- 8+ years of people/team leadership experience
- Minnesota-based – Maple Grove based leader

Preferred qualifications:
- RN, Masters or Doctorate in a clinical or scientific field
- Proven ability to build credibility and rapport with physicians who are Key Opinion Leaders and/or clinical investigators
- Clinical acumen, with an interest in and ability to understand and communicate scientific data
