About the role:
A Manufacturing Engineer leads initiatives for the daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment and drive production goals (i.e., safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity). This individual will be required to routinely partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate, troubleshoot and implement manufacturing processes within the business unit.
 
Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Works cooperatively with R&D, Process Development, Quality, Production, Regulatory, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marketing to ensure project success.
  • Successfully contributes to and product support, including the following activities: process capability studies, process development, Six Sigma and Value Improvement projects, report preparation and process/test documentation.
  • Designs and coordinates standard engineering tests and experiments.
  • Designs, procures, and fabricates equipment tooling and fixtures.
  • Characterizes the physical and material properties of the components, and optimizes these properties against device performance requirements
  • Performs troubleshooting on new and existing products/process problems as related to design, material, or processes.
  • Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results.
  • Completes and manages Capital Equipment Request Authorizations (CERA’s).
  • Prepares standard reports/documents to communicate results to the technical community.
  • May lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Identifies, implements, and manages equipment requirements to support production goals.

 
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical, industrial, biomedical, or chemical engineering
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, by analyzing, summarizing, and presenting ideas concisely via visual communication methods i.e. tables, graphs, sketches, Visio diagrams, and power point presentations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the medical device industry
  • A practical understanding of manufacturing problem solving, data analysis and production flow tools such as LEAN manufacturing.
  • Project management, processing, validation and manufacturing line support experience preferred
