The Facilities Engineer provides engineering support and project execution for facilities systems and infrastructure supporting medical device manufacturing, laboratory, and office environments. Under general supervision, this role works to design, construct, commission, qualify, and maintain controlled environments and facility systems. The position contributes to cross-functional infrastructure projects and is responsible for executing defined scopes, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Gaining comprehensive mechanical knowledge of infrastructure for manufacturing and laboratory spaces; interface with stakeholders to make new project recommendations
- Conducting structured decision assessments to ensure comprehensive budget reviews and in-depth design evaluations
- Developing criteria and standards for manufacturing facilities and lab areas to ensure designs meet building and safety codes; drive new process changes to improve efficiency and compliance
- Collecting and reviewing facility and equipment specifications, applicable regulations, deadlines, and construction feasibility
- Reviewing and estimating design costs for construction, equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and related costs
- Preparing bid sheets and contracts to support competitive bidding process for construction projects
- Coordinating with architecture and engineering firms to develop design criteria, layouts and detail drawings
- Supporting space planning and equipment layouts to maximize facilities and equipment usage
- Managing the commissioning and qualification of controlled environment areas and bulk systems; ensure FDA regulations, global standards, site procedures, and quality compliance of industry requirements are met
- Scheduling, coordinating, and planning manufacturing shutdowns to complete updates, modifications, and critical maintenance; manage projects to tight timelines and costs
- Reviewing construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 3 years of facilities engineering or related experience
- Experience working in cross-functional environments
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience supporting engineering or infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., medical devices)
- Knowledge of lean or continuous improvement principles
- Experience in large or matrixed organizations
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Proactive self-starter with effective problem-solving skills
