About the role:

The Fellow, Biostatistics provides biostatistics expertise for Boston Scientific sponsored clinical studies, for investigator sponsored research (ISR), and also to the Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA) team.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advises as an independent biostatistical consultant to the Clinical Leadership team and project teams on all biostatistical aspects of clinical and pre-clinical research and due diligence entities.
  • Leverages knowledge of biostatistical practices and methodologies in the medical device and pharmaceutical arena to advise on future project designs with continuous improvement objectives of quality, simplification, efficiency, and cost control.
  • Provides analytic insight on biostatistical strategies from competitors and advises internal team with tactical strategies accordingly.
  • Pressure-tests clinical trial assumptions from a biostatistics perspective.
  • Writes statistical methods sections of manuscripts, posters and white papers.
  • Advances basic biostatistics knowledge and provides statistical trainings across clinical functions and locations as needed.
  • Disseminates biostatistical knowledge within the biostatistics organization and across other functions.
  • Interfaces with vendors to ensure quality of their biostatistics and statistical programming activities and deliverables.
  • Manages timelines for statistical deliverables in coordination with vendors and cross-functional project teams.
  • Reviews and approves key statistical deliverables, including statistical exhibits (tables, figures and listings).
  • Advises on biostatistical aspects of investigator sponsored research (ISR) proposals.
  • Advises on biostatistical aspects of health economics research.

 

What we’re looking for in you:

 

Basic Qualifications

  •  Postgraduate degree or appropriate equivalent experience in statistics required
  • 5 year’s or more of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry
  • Experience with health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), including cost-effectiveness models, direct/network meta-analysis, and health technology assessment (HTA) submissions
  • Clinical study design experience
  • Experience with vendor/contract research organization (CRO) oversight 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oncology study experience
  • Skilled in organization and prioritization with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to deliver accuracy and high quality of work under pressure of tight deadlines and heavy workload and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
