About the role:
The Field HEMA Manager for Clinical Trials plays a critical role in ensuring patient access to investigational therapies by navigating reimbursement landscapes, supporting clinical trials across functional teams, and facilitating site education. This individual will serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and clinical trial sites, to ensure patient access to clinical trials.

This is a remote, field-based role with a preference for candidates in the Central or Eastern Time Zones.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Site Support & Reimbursement Navigation:
- Provide reimbursement education and support to clinical trial sites, including coverage analysis, prior authorization, and claims appeals processes.
- Assist sites in understanding billing and coding requirements for investigational products and associated procedures.
- Troubleshoot reimbursement issues and serve as a resource for site staff on payer policies and procedures.
- Market Access Strategy:
- Collaborate with HEMA, Clinical Operations, and Medical Affairs to align field reimbursement strategies with broader market access goals.
- Contribute to the development of tools and resources to support reimbursement and access during clinical trials.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with clinical trial site staff, payers, and third-party vendors.
- Educate stakeholders on the value proposition of investigational therapies and the importance of trial participation.
- Data Collection & Insights:
- Gather real-world insights from the field to inform access strategies and identify barriers to reimbursement.
- Provide feedback to internal teams on payer trends, site challenges, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Compliance & Training:
- Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current on reimbursement trends and regulatory changes.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in reimbursement or account-based reimbursement management roles within the medical device industry.
- Solid understanding of the evolving reimbursement landscape and practice management environments.
- Familiarity with payer policies and HIPAA compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to engage with decision-makers at facilities, practices, and payers.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, including professional correspondence and presentations.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Strong account management and relationship development skills with a focus on account penetration.
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Process-driven with flexibility to meet diverse customer demands and adapt to changing priorities.
- Healthcare coding expertise; coding certification is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in health policy, health economics, healthcare administration, health services research, or similar discipline
- Sales training, sales management or prior sales experience
- Ability to illicit and interpret customers’ goals, needs, and priorities and creatively address them with Boston Scientific products and programs.
- Demonstrated responsiveness and sense of urgency when pursuing goals and completing tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities, manage multiple projects.
- Ability to work with ambiguity and continuously adapt in a rapidly changing atmosphere.
- Experience working as part of both functional and cross-functional teams.
- Strong foundation in healthcare policy, reimbursement, and/or market access, particularly for interventional cardiology devices.
- Familiarity with clinical trial billing compliance (e.g., NCD 310.1, CMS guidelines).
- Experience with electronic health records (EHRs), claims systems, and reimbursement support platforms.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
