About the role:
The Field Health Economics & Market Access Manager is responsible for supporting the field sales organization to differentiate and promote Boston Scientific peripheral vascular and interventional oncology devices with clinical and economic data to positively influence business objectives.
This is a remote position with preference for employee to be based in the Southeast region and near a major airport.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement reimbursement, health economics, market access, and value selling education and awareness programs to promote utilization of products within the PI portfolio.
- Work in partnership with sales and sales leadership to plan and prioritize customer meetings to deliver value selling messages to drive BSC priorities.
- Collaborate with PI HEMA, commercial, and Health Economics teams to anticipate market needs and inform the development of customer-facing tools, economic models and other tactical elements of reimbursement to maximize patient access to BSC technologies.
- Educate and train sales team on health economic tools and messaging both via in-person and virtual meetings.
- Support relationships with local physician champions to support interactions with hospital administrators.
- Ensure health economic and value selling methodologies and messages are consistent across the organization and compliant with legal and regulatory guidance.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of applicable experience or or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 5 years working in the delivery and/or administration of healthcare or the medical device industry
- Possess a strong understanding and application of principles and concepts in health economics, reimbursement and/or market access and be capable of articulating the current and future market access landscape
- Ability to present complex health economic information to both large and small influential groups in a way that is both easy to understand, credible, and engages the audience.
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills and experience working with various internal business partners (especially Sales, Sales Training, Marketing, and Clinical) directly Influence business objectives and ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization.
- Knowledge of US health care policy and payment systems, including Medicare and commercial payer device reimbursement in the hospital inpatient, outpatient, ASC and physician office sites of service
- Travel estimated up to 50%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An advanced degree in health policy, health economics, healthcare administration, health services research, or similar discipline
- Experience in the interventional oncology or interventional vascular specialties
- Certification in Coding
- Experience training sales team members both individually and in group settings in the use of economic tools such as calculators, presentations, and messaging in a compliant manner.
- Experience and comfort with complex concept sales involving changes in customer behavior or care-pathway.
