About the role

Financial Analysts play a key role in managing Operating Expense within Boston Scientific's Interventional Cardiology Group (ICG), a growing $2.5B+ global business.  The Financial Analyst II supports the ICG-shared operating expense base across the Marketing, Administration and R&D business functions.  This position requires an individual that is highly collaborative who can think strategically to help optimize costs through planning, analytics and collaboration with franchise and business leaders.  The ideal candidate will be career driven and have strong analytical, communication and technical skills.


Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with functional business leaders to develop detailed financial forecasts for ICG-shared functions incorporating historical, trended and current business information, including determination of proper allocation methodology to franchise P&L’s
  • Apply GAAP, BSC accounting policy and a “Controls First” mentality while facilitating period end close, including journal entries, account recs and balance sheet preparation
  • Prepare and distribute financial reporting on variance drivers vs. budget and relevant business metrics related to current performance
  • Present forecasts and ad-hoc information to a variety of audiences, including ICG senior leadership
  • Partner with Operations and Corporate business partners to become subject matter expert on the respective operating expenses allocated into franchise P&Ls
  • Support the ICG FP&A team with ad-hoc financial analysis, as directed by management
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with business partners and finance leadership


What we’re looking for:

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field with 1-4 years’ relevant experience
  • Ability to develop business relationships and lead financial reviews with strong service orientation
  • Strong analytical skills with appreciation for details, quality of work and process improvement
  • Comfortable presenting to leaders and business partners
  • Strong winning spirit, integrity and appreciation for fostering a diverse business environment
  • Highly collaborative, team orientated and career driven
  • Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Hyperion and SAP
