About the role:

The Global Marketing Director leads the Access Solutions franchise marketing organization and drives cross-functional partnership to attain strategic and operating plan goals.   This is a critical role within Boston Scientific’s rapidly growing Electrophysiology business that focuses on delivery of high impact products to the market globally, evolving commercial excellence and ensuring world class customer experience today while guiding the product lifecycle strategy to deliver global growth.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Lead all aspects of Access Solutions Global Marketing (upstream, downstream, product management)  and play a key role on the cross-functional franchise leadership team.   Formulate and execute annual and long-range global franchise marketing plans aimed to achieve revenue goals.  
  • Works across all regions and geographies.  Builds global marketing strategy.  Coordinates strategies, action plans and communication across the international regions as well as other marketing stakeholders (priorities, sequence, timing) to optimize impact, ensure customer satisfaction and deliver on targets.   
  • Work with Watchman and ICTx division to align on strategies and action plans related to the intersection of their plans with Access Solutions.
  • Oversee franchise marketing execution to ensure sales revenue, product development, commercialization and market development results are measured and achieved.  Makes and executes operational decisions with a strategic perspective.
  • Systematically assess global Access Solutions market and competitive dynamics, barriers and opportunities.   Leverage insights to drive to action plans.   Champion the voice of the business and customer.  Translate insights into actionable requirements to inform product lifecycle management, growth, sustaining, new product portfolio and new business development decisions. Prioritize market issues and opportunities and allocate organization resources accordingly (budget, people, process, etc). 
  • Influence and leverage internal and external relationships toward stated goals.  Communicate franchise opportunities and business needs clearly and negotiate necessary functional and/or senior management resources commensurately.  
  • Remove organizational barriers and drive decision-making by leveraging matrix relationships and capability (senior management, Sales, R&D, Ops, Clin/Reg, Regional marketing, Corporate Marketing, etc).  
  • Foster and leverage industry relationships with key physicians, customers, government, societies, company partners and others to further franchise/division goals.  Facilitate team's development of these relationships. Serve as a resource/subject matter expert to senior management.
  • Participate as part of the Access Solutions franchise team to set and execute on business objectives.
  • Attract, lead and develop direct reports.  Attract, develop and promote results-oriented skill sets and leadership that enable success of the business.  Actively coach and mentor organizational talent by creating opportunities for challenge and skill advancement, with appropriate reward and recognition.  Measure direct report performance and provide feedback.  Develop succession plans and long range organizational plans.
  • Foster a learning mindset among team members and ensure a continuous improvement approach to the business, products, people and processes.  Understand future business needs and set expectations for excellence accordingly (skill set, product, or process).   Drive change by establishing priorities, then developing plans defining roles and accountabilities for improvement, and metrics for evaluating success.
  • Own creation of Access Solutions customer campaigns.  Actively identify and act upon opportunities to propagate content, leverage digital capabilities and innovative customer engagement strategies in execution plans that achieve goals.  Ensure adoption of best practice processes that optimize performance. 
  • Foster performance KPI driven culture, ensure creation of dashboards to track and report marketing/launch performance, overseeing the collection and utilization of performance data to inform progress and guide optimization. Develop and defining tools/processes for tracking performance of existing investments against plan
  • Lead change and effectively manage conflict across multiple levels and functions.
  • Strong business acumen, fact-based decision making, and ability to quickly ramp up on new technologies and investment opportunities

 

What we're looking for:

Required qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8 - 10 years’ experience in complex commercial program management or team leadership in med technology, pharma or biotech

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA 
  • Significant collaboration and demonstrated success in working across a global, matrixed organization
  • Med tech single use device marketing preferred
  • Global marketing and product launch experience strongly preferred
  • Commercial and customer-first mindset, track record in working across multiple geopgraphic regions 
  • Deep understanding of all disciplines of marketing, marketing strategy, commercial/sales process & operations
  • Familiarity with digital, marketing/demand gen, medical education
  • Executive presence and ability to influence across multiple levels
