The Global Senior Medical Education Manager leads the planning, development and execution of a global medical education portfolio aligned with business priorities, learner needs and organizational objectives. This role is responsible for translating medical strategy into high-quality, compliant and measurable educational programs that strengthen health care professional capability, support evidence-based practice and advance multidisciplinary care.

 

The Global Senior Medical Education Manager partners across global and regional Medical Affairs, Medical Operations, Marketing, Regulatory, Legal/Compliance and external faculty to design and deliver live, virtual and digital education initiatives. This individual serves as both a strategic partner and execution leader, with accountability for portfolio planning, curriculum development, faculty engagement, program quality and performance measurement.

 

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

Global medical education strategy and planning

● Lead development of the annual global medical education plan aligned with therapeutic-area priorities, evidence gaps, product life cycle needs and regional insights.

● Define target learner segments, educational objectives and priority capabilities to be developed across the portfolio.

● Recommend annual priorities, trade-offs and resource allocation based on business needs, scientific developments and market dynamics.

Program and curriculum development

● Design and manage a portfolio of global medical education initiatives, including symposia, workshops, faculty-led programs, case-based forums, webinars, digital modules and congress-adjacent education.

● Develop scalable program frameworks and toolkits that can be adapted across regions and markets.

● Ensure all educational content is scientifically rigorous, learner-centered and operationally feasible.

Faculty and external engagement

● Identify, engage and develop expert faculty to support global medical education initiatives.

● Partner with faculty and internal medical leaders to shape agendas, learning objectives and program content.

● Collaborate with external educational partners and vendors, as appropriate.

Global collaboration and cross-functional leadership

● Serve as a central point of coordination across global and regional stakeholders to align on program priorities, content, timing and execution.

● Create effective working cadences and communication channels with regional teams to capture insights and enable local relevance.

● Partner closely with Legal, Regulatory and Compliance to ensure all programs and materials meet internal and external standards.

Measurement, insights and continuous improvement

● Define success metrics for medical education programs, including participation, engagement, knowledge gain, confidence, intent to change and other relevant performance indicators.

● Analyze program feedback and performance data to identify trends, generate insights and recommend improvements.

● Develop and maintain dashboards, summaries and executive updates to communicate portfolio performance and inform decision-making.

Operational excellence and budget management

● Manage end-to-end program execution in partnership with internal teams and external vendors, including timelines, contracts, budgets, logistics and documentation.

● Ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget and at a consistently high standard of quality.

● Maintain appropriate records, approvals and audit-ready documentation for all educational activities.

 

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred in life sciences, health care, education, public health, business or a related field.

● Minimum of 5 years' experience in medical education, medical affairs, professional education, health care marketing or a related health care professional-facing function.

● Experience developing and managing health care professional education programs in medtech, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or a related health care environment.

● Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional projects in a global or highly matrixed organization.

● Strong program management skills, including budget management, vendor oversight and timeline control.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, faculty and cross-functional partners.

Preferred qualifications:

● Experience supporting global medical education strategy across multiple regions or markets.

● Familiarity with adult learning principles, curriculum design, digital learning platforms and outcomes measurement.

● Experience working with faculty, key opinion leaders, medical societies and external education partners.

● Comfort working with dashboards, data analysis and performance reporting.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
