About this role:
The Senior Project Lead will be responsible for the top-level leadership of the Operations portion of new product development projects, VIPs, site transfers and other Maple Grove manufacturing or corporate project initiatives. Ultimately, the Senior Project Lead is responsible for the seamless transition of products into manufacturing. Project size will range from leading smaller projects to assisting with portions of a larger project. Multiple projects of various sizes may be handled simultaneously by the PM. Cross functional operations team members will be led by the Senior Project Lead.
Your Responsibilities
- Identify the Operations resources required for assigned project activities and form teams as required to complete the activities
- Identify and coordinate all activities (or a defined subset of activities) required to complete the project or task through the team and ensure its timely completion ensuring current policies and practices are followed and accurate documentation is kept
- Ensure manufacturability of products transferred into production through use of the new product tool kit
- Identify issues that may affect quality, cost, or service levels early within the project and work with the team to resolve prior to transition into commercialization
- Lead team effectively ensuring good cross-functional communications and provide input to cross-functional Core team members and Core Team Leaders
- Generate high-level plans and schedules on larger projects
- Assess business risk and prioritize tasks among many activities as multiple projects will be assigned
- Identify, communicate, and manage moderate to high levels of technical risk
- Delegate and manage tasks among team members as appropriate to their skill level and risk to the project
- Elevate issues and clear barriers to team progress will be tantamount to success in this role
- Resolve conflicts with team members and involve functional management as required to ensure timely project completion
- Make occasional presentations to upper management
What we are looking for
Basic Qualifications
- 3-5 years engineering of operations leadership experience (manufacturing, process development or related)
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering
- Strong organization and execution skills will be required, as well as a demonstrated ability to confidently handle the top responsibility for project completion
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant project management experience in Operations or Development either leading projects or as a team member leading significant segments of projects
- Experience in both pre-launch and post-launch product support activities preferred, with the most emphasis placed on post-launch work. Broad product knowledge across multiple franchises is preferred over individual product expertise
- Manufacturing experience desired including familiarity with new product tools such as Terms and Conditions, Design Capability Matrices, Capital approval, Cost Models, and Capacity Planning.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and a deep understanding of internal SOPs is a plus
- PMP certification a plus
