Manager I, Supplier Quality SFMD

About the role:

Leads a team of Quality engineers/technicians to support External Manufacturing, Supplier Development, New Product Development, and Quality Systems for Sourced Finished Medical Devices (SFMD). Directs team to ensure the external manufacture of high quality product and to facilitate compliance with regulatory requirements.

 Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a group or team of Supplier Quality personnel in the achievement of organizational goals. Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable drive those practices throughout their organization.
  • Translates department goals into individual objectives.
  • Develops direct reports by securing appropriate training, assigning progressively challenging tasks, applying progressive disciplinary action as appropriate and conducting formal written and verbal feedback/performance reviews.
  • Implements a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the selection process with Human Resources
  • Directs Supplier Quality personnel to support new product development and sustaining projects based on coordination with management, project leaders, sourcing, supplier engineering and design engineers.
  • Foster an inclusive and diverse workplace that enables all particpates to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Interprets and executes policies that affect work processes and personnel within the assigned organizational unit.
  • Provides support by defining work assignments directed to address manufacturing defects, address change control and implementation of process improvements with external manufacturers.
  • Establish, promote and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality policy, Quality System & the appropriate regulations for the area.
  • Interacts with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, collaborating on activities, responding to requests and explaining procedures.
  • Contributes to the development of operational policies and procedures that affect personnel within the assigned organizational unit.
  • Identifies, develops and implements improvement activities to improve department performance.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations etc.).
  • Contributes to the development and monitoring of area budgets through regular analysis of cost and spending.
  • Participates in activities to monitor and improve product and supplier performance (e.g. Management Review, Complaint Review, Quarterly Business Review).
  •  Front facing and support resource for internal, corporate and external audits and inspections.

What we're looking for in you:

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS Degree plus 4-6 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Proven leadership experience inspiring others through a positive work environment.
  • Ability to assess and consolidate information to prepare clear, concise reports to more Senior Management
  • Experience building relationships with external vendors and internal customers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Previous experience with Capital Equipment and Systems
  • Previous experience with Manufacturing Medical Devices
  • Previous experience with New Product Development Projects
  • Previous experience with due diligence initiatives
