About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a R&D Engineer supporting Coronary Therapies projects within the Interventional Cardiology division.  This role will utilize a variety of new and proven technologies to deliver life-changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSC’s mission.


Your responsibilities: 

  • Work with R&D team to identify needs for preclinical studies and physician feedback
  • Develop protocols and reports for physician feedback and preclinical studies
  • Research and write clinical white papers to support product launch
  • Plan claims substantiation strategies and generate data to support
  • Lead the design & execution of structured experimental plans to make data-driven research and product development decisions using statistical analysis tools
  • Understand clinical use cases and user requirements to drive design decisions
  • Coordinate with preclinical study services groups and support GLP studies as needed
  • Support product launches during limited market releases
  • Help create and execute design validation activities 
  • Provide clear communication to stakeholders at key technical updates
  • Leverage internal/external partners as necessary to achieve project objectives
  • Develop novel improvements to products or processes resulting in expansion of BSC’s Intellectual Property portfolio in key strategic areas
  • Work cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing on complex projects to ensure project success
  • In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to all documented quality processes and procedures


Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Biomedical Engineering or similar
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years experience OR Master’s Degree
  • Ability to provide technical leadership as it relates to product and process design
  • Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources


Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid statistical analysis skills
  • Medical device experience, especially medical imaging
  • Experience learning and operating complex systems
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
