About the role: 
This position is responsible for leading a team of electrical and mechanical hardware engineers in the design, development, and commercialization of innovative electronic medical equipment (EME) within the IC division of Boston Scientific
This position is a leader in a fast-growing team with significant investment from the franchise.

 

Your responsibilities include: 

  • Responsible for recruiting, coaching, and/or developing organizational talent.
  • Assessess electrical and mechanical project team needs accross IC and works with technical leads and program managers to ensure they are set up for technology and product development success.
  • Responsible for providing direction and/or guidance to hardware engineers who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments.  May supervise non-exempt employees.
  • Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.

  • Keeps the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action.
  • Demonstrates effective change leadership.
  • Builds strategic partnerships across Boston Scientific to further departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Develops and executes organizational and operational policies that affect one or more groups by utilizing technical/professional knowledge and skills.
  • Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations, etc.).
  • Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives.
  • Responsible for developing, monitoring and appropriately adjusting the annual budget for department.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).

 

What we’re looking for:
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years of medical equipment or medical device design experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer or Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Experience with Class II or Class III medical device product development 
  • 2+ years of experience in direct management of hardware engineers
  • Cross functional experience in working with external manufacturing partners, operations and test engineering and process development
