Director, Supplier Quality

 

Location: This role can be based in any Boston Scientific major facilities in the US, Costa Rica or Ireland.

 

About the role:

This is a key role for the Global Supplier QA organization providing strategic direction and leadership in improving product quality, service, and cost across Boston Scientific. The leader will be responsible for a highly motivated Supplier Quality team that supports multiple manufacturing sites and divisions. This is a global team primarily located at our facilities in the US, Costa Rica, Ireland & Malaysia. The Supplier QA Director leads a team of QA Managers & Engineers to ensure full compliance to all Global Medical Device regulations. This role reports into the Vice President, Global Quality Systems and Supplier Quality.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide supplier quality leadership and direction to team/organization and ensures the Quality Management System meets the various requirements of material controls regulatory requirements.
  • Build & maintain strong partnerships with the Global Sourcing and Supplier Engineering teams.
  • Build & maintain strong relationships with Divisional, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Corporate teams
  • Be recognized as an excellent team player across the organization.
  • Demonstrated commitment to developing people in a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Recognized as an expert in mentoring and coaching individual and team performance while visibly demonstrating the core values of BSC in his/her everyday leadership style.
  • Foster and drive a continuous improvement approach to Quality, ensuring that Quality is the responsibility of everyone. 
  • Key leadership role in communications with regulators; audit facing.

What we are looking for in you:

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of related work experience in the Medical Device industry
  • A minimum of 10 years people management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong communication and collaborative leadership skills
  • Up to 20% Domestic and International Travel

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in managing global teams
  • Experience in Manufacturing, Supplier, Design & Quality Systems roles
  • Financial experience, budget planning & management
  • Experience managing high impact product performance: field issues, complaints, and field actions
