About the role:
Like every product focused organization, we need to safeguard our company against product related cyber-attacks.  In this role you will lead our efforts to identify and improve the global security of BSC Products.  The Program Director for Product Security is responsible for working with senior leadership across all BSC divisions to identify and protect sensitive information and functionality for BSC products.  This position is accountable with R&D, IT, Quality, Regulatory, Communications, Legal and other functions, for directing activities to include assessment, scope, design, implementation, and reporting on security related activity and controls for products across the global organization. 


Your responsibilities include: 

  • In collaboration with BSC's business and R&D technology leadership, develop, direct and execute the products security strategy /framework and develop a multi-year roadmap to support long-term strategic imperatives. Manage resources and capabilities to ensure Security By Design; build capabilities for threat modeling, vulnerability discovery/disclosure, penetration testing and other security requirements across multiple products
  • Develop capabilities to proactively identify potential product security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities present in the environment; develop and provide guidance for mitigation.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert and set expectation for compliance with all current and applicable laws, regulations, and global guidance that affect Medical Device Cybersecurity.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, and IT leadership, coordinate security vulnerability discovery and penetration testing across multiple products.
  • With Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and R&D, interface to external entities for BSC products including the FDA, H-ISAC, HSCC, Homeland Security, Medical Device Innovation Consortium, Archimedes, University of MN Cyber-MD Center and others as the job requires.
  • Partner and guide cross-functional teams globally to ensure successful delivery of solutions from concept to launch and commercial use to include assessment of emerging trends.
  • With Quality Assurance, support SOPs/WIs, reviews and Risk Analysis reports for various products.
  • Contribute into the development and assist in maintenance of Medical Device Cybersecurity community.

What we’re looking for: 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10 plus years of related work experience.
  • Experience leading the development of global information security systems in the Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, Automotive, Defense or relevant industries
  • Experience working with US Federal and State Regulatory agencies and international regulatory bodies to define security requirements
  • Experience using Project Management and Influence skills to lead cross functional change
  • Regulatory awareness

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced /Master’s degree
