Quality Engineer II (Projects Support)

 

About the role:
The Quality Engineer II will be a leading or a key member of the Nitinol Shape Memory (NSM) team supporting projects related to increased production capacity, improved process capability and reduced quality signals.  This role will partner with key stakeholders such as Process Development, Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing representatives.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable interfacing with downstream internal customers and providing quality leadership to NSM project teams.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Leading or support new process/equipment qualification, inter-site process transfer, new building qualification, and/or new product manufacturing readiness.
  • Leading or support Quality projects such as Corrective Action / Preventive Action &/or Product Risk Assessments workstreams.
  • Identifies and implements effective process control systems to support the development, qualification, and on-going manufacturing of products (Watchman) to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
  • Supports culture of continuous improvement by driving enhancements to existing process controls.
  • Proactively investigates, identifies, and implements best-in-class Quality Engineering practices.
  • Promotes quality assurances, process controls, and CAPA systems designed to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.
  • Applies sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving quality issues.
  • Provides input and implements departmental or cross-functional engineering initiatives.
  • Assures the development and execution of streamlined business systems which effectively identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Participates in team decision making and displays team problem solving/communication skills.

 

What we’re looking for in you:
Minimal requirements:

  • BS with 2+ years of relevant experience OR MS with 1+ years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education/work experience
  • Strong data analysis skills (Excel, Minitab, etc.)
  • Self-starter with  proven ability to successfully work with minimal supervision
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner with high attention to detail

Preferred qualifications:

  • 4-year Engineering degree
  • Experience owning cross functional improvement and corrective action projects
  • Demonstrated project management success
  • Experience in the medical device, biotechnology or other highly regulated industry
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
