About the Role:
You will be working in a clean, air conditioned, modern and fast paced machine shop.  We manufacturing custom parts, tooling and fixtures that support the rapid development of new products, equipment and test methods.  We are the first responders to provide immediate support to manufacturing equipment and tooling that is inoperable to minimize down time. We offer flexible start times and education opportunities.
 
 
Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Fabricate quality custom tooling using advanced technical skills: milling, drilling, turning, grinding, and EDM utilizing manual and CNC equipment
  • Monitor project status to ensure on-time delivery
  • Interpret complex drawings, sketches, and electronic files
  • Mentors level II Machinists, frequently checks in to ensure understanding and compliance to the work instructions, operating procedures, and training documents
  • Provides an advanced level of machining techniques
  • Promotes good morale and productivity
  • Perform CAD/CAM operations including, basic drafting and design of tooling, and 2D/3D tool path programming
  • Perform in-process inspection on parts being machined.
  • Perform routine maintenance of machine tools being used
  • Assess feasibility of design for fabrication, and offer solutions as necessary.
  • Determine methods and procedures for efficient fabrication on all projects, with minimal instruction from the lead, supervisor, or team member
  • Adheres to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when required

 
 
Required Qualifications 

  • 2 years with high school degree/equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education/work experience
  • Tool cart/chest with personal tools
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks when interrupted for production down issues
  • Ability to collaborate and assist team members, provide input to the area lead, and attend and participate in meetings
  • Ability to cross train in other areas or machines when required

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year Machining or Technical Degree (or a minimum of 4 years of experience machining medical components with tight tolerances)
  • Experience with milling, turning or grinding.
  • Experience setting up and operating machine tools
  • Proficient in the use of machinist hand tools and measuring tools, process planning and inspection.
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
