Manager, Process Engineering (Structural Heart Valve)

About the Role:


At Boston Scientific, as part of the Maple Grove Process Development team, this position’s primary responsibilities include leading a team of process engineers in advancing new products, processes, and technologies. The Manager, Process Engineering is focused on the fast-growing and highly dynamic Structural Heart Valve (SHV) franchise within the ICTx division. This role will oversee the development and management of the people and processes required to ensure functional excellence and delivery of robust, scalable, and high-quality manufacturing processes to divisional and operations customers. This role will provide strategic input into departmental, divisional and BSC plant network initiatives, along with being tasked with building, developing, and empowering a strong team capable of fulfilling multi-project and multi-customer needs for the business.


The Manager, Process Engineering will also focus on building effective partnerships across functions and geographic locations to drive successful execution of key programs. This role will utilize a variety of new and proven technologies to deliver next-generation concepts for life-changing medical devices to patients and clinicians in support of BSC’s mission.
 
Your Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Lead engineering teams to develop highly capable, scalable, and robust manufacturing processes and technologies, and successfully transfer into operations.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing teams to create innovative and manufacturable product designs.
  • Lead teams in the achievement of organizational goals. Recruit, guide, coach, direct and develop direct reports and organizational talent.
  • Ensure knowledge driven approach to process and product development, and that functional excellence is exhibited in all product and technology development projects.
  • Prioritize and manage execution of the functional deliverables and projects associated with the Product Development Process and Quality System
  • Create an inclusive, high-performance, and entrepreneurial environment, while fostering a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrate effective change leadership.
  • Build strategic partnerships and effectively collaborate cross-functionally to further departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Serve as a technical resource and provide on-going feedback and coaching to direct reports and PD project team.

What We're Looking For: 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline and 7+ years of related work experience; or master’s degree and 5+ years of related work experience
  • 3+ years’ experience as a leader of technical people
  • Demonstrated cross-functional collaboration in a technically demanding environment.
  • Experience providing guidance to and training engineering teams associated within development projects, motivate individuals to achieve results, and drive objectives to completion while maintaining a strong working environment.

Preferred Qualifications: 
 

  • Ability to travel internationally up to 5-10%
  • Working knowledge of Boston Scientific therapies and products
  • Proven leadership and management of a technical group providing coaching and development.
  • Working knowledge of BSC therapies and products
  • Vision to see what technologies are going to be needed in the future and ability to get them started with little oversight or guidance.
  • Experience leading teams throughout a product life cycle from exploratory to commercialization and end of life.
  • Class II or Class III Medical Device product development experience
