About the role:

The Manufacturing Engineer III will lead engineering projects to improve products, processes, and equipment to meet operations goals (i.e., safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity).  This individual will be required to routinely partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate, problem solve and implement improvements to manufacturing processes within the business unit.

Your responsibilities will include:         

  • Implement projects to address non-conformances, low yields, or other quality/production issues. 
  • Communicate effectively to an audience consisting of peers, operations management, and supporting divisions (R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Project Management, etc). 
  • Plan, organize and prioritize daily work to meet production and project goals. 
  • Apply problem solving and process improvement methodologies to complex and diverse manufacturing processes – driving root cause analysis and resolution. 
  • Train and/or provide work direction to manufacturing operators and technicians. 
  • Recognize quality signals and escalate appropriately within the quality system requirements. 
  • Lead projects with cross-functional team members working towards common business goals. 
  • Work collaboratively with divisional customer teams (R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Quality, other) to deliver on new product introductions, change management, process improvements, or business continuity projects. 
  • Gather, analyze, and summarize data – drawing conclusions, and reporting out to peers and management. 
  • Work with vendors/suppliers on technical design, procurement, and fabrication of materials, equipment, fixturing, etc. 
  • Take initiative to identify improvement opportunities, prioritize them, communicate them to the appropriate levels and see them through to completion.  
  • Ability to be resilient in the face of setbacks.  
  • Plan appropriately for risks and responds positively to unforeseen problems. 

  

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechanical)
  • 3+years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of engineering and problem-solving principles, concepts, tools, and techniques, as well as fundamentals of change management and process validation
  • Proven ability to provide creative solutions and collaboratively draw ideas from cross functional teams 

 

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Experience in the medical device industry
  • Problem solving and process improvement experience
  • Experience with validation and qualification of equipment
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
