About This Role:
This is a unique opportunity for a highly capable experienced people leader to leverage broad engineering, business and leadership skills. As the Engineering Supervisor in a high growth factory, you will lead a team of engineers and technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, driving business results to achieve short term and long-term goals. This factory is highly automated, with several complex laser cutting processes and machines. The Engineering Supervisor leads and provides technical direction to a group of technicians and engineers, devoting a significant portion of time contributing to the growth and development of team members within the department. The supervisor works directly with a broad team of engineers across multiple support functions to develop and execute to the strategic vision for the factor.

 

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides guidance and training to staff, developing subordinates to attain career goals, motivating individuals to achieve results, and recruiting and maintaining a high-quality staff.
  • Mentors technicians and engineers, driving exceptional results through others.
  • Leads engineering teams to the successful completion of project goals.
  • Works with manager to establish department goals, objectives, and budgets.
  • Plans resource needs and hiring for department.
  • Prioritizes and manages execution of multiple projects.
  • Maintains and enhances cross-functional team relationships.
  • Works cross-functionally in identifying and resolving production/engineering issues.
  • Ensures policies and processes are followed.
  • Represents manufacturing engineering in new product development teams.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

 

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with direct reports.
  • Strong communication, coaching and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have practical understanding of manufacturing problem solving and process improvement tools Must be able to communicate effectively, by analyzing, summarizing, and presenting ideas concisely via visual communication methods i.e. tables, graphs, Visio diagrams, and PowerPoint presentation.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device industry experience
  • Experience in laser cutting processes
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership of problem solving in a Production support role
