About the role:
The Core Technology Polymers (CTP) team is looking for a motivated individual to join the team and support extrusion operations. This person will be responsible for supervising, leading, and providing technical direction to technicians within a medical device manufacturing environment. This supervisor will be responsible for ensuring proper support for manufacturing processes including staffing levels, problem solving initiatives, proper escalation of issues, and mentorship of team members. This role will demonstrate commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide guidance and training to staff, develop team to attain career goals, motivate individuals to achieve results, and recruit and maintain a high-quality staff
- Work with managers to establish team’s goals and objectives
- Implement methods of connecting, engaging, and aligning team to each other and to the broader business unit
- Assist manager with resource planning needs and hiring for team
- Prioritize and manage execution of multiple problem solving and daily tasks for team
- Successfully complete manufacturing engineering project work on Value Improvement Process (VIP), business continuity and capacity projects, and efficiency improvement projects for team
- Maintain and enhance cross-functional team relationships
- Work cross-functionally to identify and resolve production/engineering issues
- Ensure policies and processes are followed
- Demonstrate resiliency in the face of setbacks; plan appropriately for risks and respond positively to unforeseen problems
- Identify, implement, and manage equipment requirements to support production goals
- Work cooperatively with R&D, Process Development, Quality, Production, Regulatory, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marketing to ensure project success
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant, professional engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven understanding of manufacturing problem solving, data analysis, and production flow tools (i.e. lean manufacturing)
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Biomedical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in people leadership or leading technical teams/projects (not necessarily by means of direct reports)
- Experience in the medical device industry or similar, highly-regulated industry
- Experience with polymer extrusion or other similar extrusion
- Project management experience
- Experience with validation and qualification of equipment
- Proven ability to drive process improvement initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to develop and present ideas via visual communication methods
