About This Role:
With general supervisory direction, assist in the daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment in order to achieve production goals (i.e., quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and safety) in a polymer extrusion factory comprised of 20+ extrusion lines as well as ancillary processes and equipment.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Troubleshooting and basic maintenance activities for automated PC and PLC controlled manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance activities for manual mechanical manufacturing support equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot process, material or equipment problems to minimize down time and improve process yields.
- Identify, design, and implement process equipment changes to improve reliability of the process.
- Modify existing and develop new tooling and fixtures.
- Qualification of tooling and fixtures.
- Revise existing documents, processes, and/or methods to correct or improve processes/product.
- Work with vendors/suppliers to procure and install tooling, fixtures, and/or equipment.
- Assist in execution of actions and completion of reports required to implement process changes, validations, and qualifications.
- Assist in Value Improvement Projects (VIP) by implementing new equipment or processes, or improving existing ones for cost savings.
- Collect data to support statistical analysis for process characterization, Ppk, and scrap reduction goals.
- Work cross-functionally with Process Development and Equipment Engineering to bring new products or equipment onto the production floor.
- Work with departmental customers to improve material quality and delivery.
- Train and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians.
What We're Looking For In You:
Minimum Qualifications
- AA Degree or 2-3 years of equivalent work experience in related discipline
- Self-Motivated; will seek out opportunities to improve business performance
- Communicates well with peers about issues/problems that arise
- Proficient with MS Office suite of software
- Willing to learn skills & technologies not yet developed per needs of the Company
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of previous Medical Device, Aerospace, and/or Automotive Experience
- Extrusion processing or maintenance support experience
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment maintenance and support
- Ability to read mechanical prints and schematics
- Experience with measurement equipment
- Understanding and experience with CAD
- Understanding and experience with PLC programming
