About the role:
With general supervisory direction, assist in the daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment in order to achieve production goals (i.e., quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and safety). This role is primarily focused on the maintenance and qualification of molding tooling.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collect data and execute testing to qualify equipment and tooling for use in production
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, tooling, and machinery
- Modify existing and develop new tooling and fixtures
- Revise existing documents, processes, and/or methods to correct or improve processes/product
- Work with vendors/suppliers to procure and install tooling, fixtures, and/or equipment
- Assist in Value Improvement (VIP) projects, implementing new equipment or processes or improving existing ones for cost savings
- Identify and troubleshoot process, material, tooling, or equipment problems to minimize downtime
- Work with Process Development to bring new products into production
- Work with departmental customers to improve material quality and delivery
- Train and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians
Required qualifications:
- 1 year with an AA degree or an equivalent combination of education/work experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Familiarity with various polymer processing techniques including extrusion, bonding, injection/blow-molding and 3D printing
- Medical device or heavily regulated industry experience
