About the role:
The Medical Affairs Manager (MAM) role is responsible for executing the Medical Affairs strategy, specifically with the Varithena drug, to support product education and adoption specific to clinical use, clinical data, and clinical impact for Health Care Providers (HCPs). The MAM will identify and engage HCPs through collaborative partnerships to amplify clinical data, enhance educational initiatives, advance the appropriate application of therapies, and to advise BSC on matters of strategic importance. The MAM will work with senior management at BSC to align priorities and serve as a liaison between Clinical Affairs, Marketing, R&D, and Program Management.  The MAM leads the strategy for major scientific meeting symposia aligned with strategic imperatives and develops relationships with the leadership of key societies.

 
Your responsibilities will include:

• Facilitate key interactions of national “Key Opinion Leader” (KOL) physician customers with Boston Scientific through defined corporate strategies.
• Understand how we are working with our key physicians across functions and be an internal resource for the information.
• Develop tailored coordination and engagement strategies to maximize effectiveness of Key Opinion Leader/BSC interaction.
• Identify key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the industry, expert speakers, and well-known academicians who can deliver the defined curriculum as well as provide technical and clinical insight with real-world applications, supporting the safe and effective use of Varithena. 
• Expand the involvement of KOLs in providing feedback in support of the evidence planning process, to identify and prioritize clinical evidence needs.
• Collaborate across Medical, Clinical, and Health Economics & Market Access leads to support policy expansion strategy.
• Assist in expanding the involvement of the KOL network by identifying collaborative opportunities to engage KOLs in a BSC partnership and facilitating communication and interactions with BSC senior leadership. 
• Lead strategic planning of relevant symposium and sponsored educational events at the major and regional conferences.  Identify educational gaps/needs and incorporate into future symposia/training.
• Facilitate faculty alignment on symposia format and objectives.  Coordinate speaker presentations with faculty, and Legal & Regulatory review/approval.  Support speaker preparation and understanding of BSC clinical data for symposia.
• Support Med Ed team content development, align technology and therapy objectives, and provide slides in prep of BSC sponsored events as well as conference invited talks. 
• Act as a liaison for clinical trial execution, including site selection, physician training, and procedural support, as needed.
• Communicate clinical study data with physicians and internal stakeholders. This will require in-depth understanding of trial design, data analysis, and clinical application of the data.
• Interact with Clinical, Marketing, Sales Leadership, Senior Management and other key functions, act as a catalyst to cross functional collaboration.
• Maintain communication cadence with Key Opinion Leaders between events/congresses to help BSC achieve its goals and objectives.
• Ensure Key Opinion Leaders and podium influencers have the latest Varithena clinical data and pipeline information, establishing collaboration on speaker deck resources.
• Work to solve clinical questions that may arise surrounding clinical research and investigator sponsored research opportunities – conduit to linking the site/KOL to the appropriate channels.
• Support Steering Committee meetings and Advisory Boards.
• Manage all customer requests submitted through the medical information request system in compliance with the pharmacovigilance team

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required
• 8+ years of medical marketing/clinical/sales experience (cardiovascular, peripheral, and/or interventional with pharma or biologics industry experience preferred) 

Preferred qualifications:

• Extensive customer facing experience, KOL engagement/relationship building required
• Proven experience as a Medical, Scientific or Clinical Affairs Manager, Medical Device Sales and/or Marketing, Market Development, Medical Education
• Experience interpreting and communicating clinical data with internal and external stakeholders and physicians
• Must have the ability to manage simultaneous priorities, changing deadlines, and limited resources
• Will include travel (50%) to medical meetings, hospitals, and/or other BSC facilities.
