About the role:
As a Principal, Franchise Strategy Marketer, you will play a key leadership role in shaping the long-term strategic direction across multiple franchises within the Peripheral Vascular business. You will lead and execute high-impact strategic projects that drive growth, support data-driven decision-making, and enable portfolio optimization. Acting as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders, you will develop business cases for new product opportunities, guide investment decisions, and influence the trajectory of innovation within the organization.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

Strategic planning and portfolio leadership

  • Partner with franchise leadership to define and refine long-term strategic objectives and growth plans
  • Conduct market assessments, competitive analyses, and technology landscape evaluations to identify opportunities and risks
  • Lead the development of portfolio evaluation frameworks and strategic roadmaps across franchises
  • Facilitate portfolio prioritization using data-driven tools to optimize investment decisions

 

Investment prioritization and opportunity assessment

  • Create tools and models that support investment prioritization, scenario planning, and resource allocation
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, clinical trends, and adjacent markets for strategic fit and business value
  • Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for executive stakeholders

 

Business case development and new business growth

  • Build robust business cases for new product lines, partnerships, and acquisitions, including financial modeling and risk assessment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Finance, Business Development, and Global Marketing to validate strategic assumptions
  • Support due diligence and integration planning for inorganic growth initiatives

 

Strategic execution and leadership support

  • Lead initiatives that address critical business questions related to portfolio expansion, lifecycle strategy, and market positioning
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to franchise leaders and senior executives
  • Develop and present clear strategic narratives and recommendations for both internal and external audiences

 

Tools and capability building

  • Develop and scale strategic frameworks, dashboards, and decision-support tools across the marketing organization
  • Mentor and coach junior team members to strengthen organizational strategic capabilities

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in marketing, strategy, business development, or consulting—ideally within medical devices or healthcare
  • Proven ability to analyze complex markets and synthesize insights into actionable strategy
  • Demonstrated experience with complex financial modeling, including revenue, investment, and claims/EHR-based models
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with ability to develop and present persuasive recommendations
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed environment
  • Proven success building strong relationships and influencing at senior levels
  • Consistent exposure to executive leadership in previous roles
  • Ability to travel up to 20%

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred
  • Experience leading portfolio strategy or strategic marketing projects in a highly regulated industry
  • Track record of driving strategic change through insights and business case development
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical rigor
  • Advanced financial acumen and investment modeling expertise
  • Executive-level presentation and communication skills
  • Comfort with ambiguity and complex problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and mentor others

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
