About the Role:
Boston Scientific’s Cardiovascular Finance and Accounting Group has a unique opportunity for a Principal Accountant. As a Principal Accountant, you will spend time advising on technical accounting, drive process improvement for existing accounting procedures, develop new accounting processes to support new business activity, and support general ledger accounting activities.

The Principal accountant position will support the accounting activities for medical device computer hardware technology (capital equipment) for multiple business units within the Cardiovascular business units.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical accounting expertise on capital equipment related topics such as revenue recognition, inventory accounting and fixed asset accounting, participating in research, implementation and monitoring activities. Emphasis on ASC 606 Revenue accounting and ASC 842 Lease accounting.
- Compiling and analyzing financial information through preparation of reports, general ledger entries, and account recs
- Performing month-end close processes including posting journal entries and performing account reconciliations
- Partnering with functional heads/project leads to provide financial insight to drive business decisions
- Maintaining internal control environment and assisting with regular SOX documentation and testing requirements
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Taking an active interest in seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and standardizing processes
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of progressive experience with a public accounting firm, or combined experience with a large, complex multi-national company
- Detail oriented, self-starter, strong integrity, team player
- Highly developed customer relationship and communication skills
- Inquisitive and takes an active interest in opportunities to improve the efficiency of work
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications; SAP (ECC/S4) and Hyperion experience a plus

- ASC 606/ASC 842 accounting experience
