Purpose Statement

As a Principal Business Analyst – Compensation/Anaplan you will play a key role in building, optimizing, and scaling Anaplan solutions for compensation and other parts of Commercial Operations. This is a dynamic and exciting role with the ability to shape the direction of the division’s compensation model through your contributions. You will convert technical knowledge to layman terms to gain alignment from leaders about what is possible. This will be a cross-functional role that provides an opportunity to collaborate across various business teams and functions within BSC including Sales Operations, Human Resources, IT and Divisional Sales Compensation team developing strong relationships and streamlined collaboration. The Business Analyst role operates within the Selling organization supporting sales incentive compensation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with divisional compensation team to build and optimize Anaplan solutions to support business needs.
  • Drive solution-driven decisions in Anaplan that are scalable and provide consistency.
  • Offer solutions to proposed dynamic problems, including being willing to say when something isn’t possible and finding an alternative.Support existing Anaplan models and continually improve, add new capabilities, and provide error resolution on current models.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and establish effective and efficient processes.
  • Voice of the Compensation team when discussing technological ability of our systems to handle requests.  
  • Perform performance and compensation analytics.
  • Become an expert on data sources, ensuring data accuracy when using them
  • Ability to prioritize differently as business needs change.
  • Demonstrate team-first mindset while leveraging individual skills/ability to work independently
  • Develop data connections among business intelligence applications such as Tableau, Alteryx, SAP BusinessObjects.
  • Lead special projects as they arise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or STEM
  • 3+ years of Anaplan model-building experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strategic thinker with attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Effective communicator and collaborator, including to leadership levels
  • Leadership in project timelines and communicating when issues arise
  • Strong math skills with the ability to solve complex problems using a logic-based approach 
  • Curious mindset and takes an active interest in data accuracy
  • Can-do attitude with attention to detail and oriented to precision, accuracy, continuous learning and development
  • Ability to work both independently and on a team in a fast-paced matrix environment, prioritize own work, and adhere to tight deadlines

Other Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Commercial Operations, Accounting, Finance or analytical work experience 
  • Experience with incentive compensation and hierarchy-based systems
  • Familiarity with the following tools and platforms:
    • Anaplan (Advanced model building)
    • Salesforce
    • Tableau
    • Alteryx
    • SAP BusinessObjects

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
