Principal Business Intelligence Analyst
About the role:
We are seeking a highly entrepreneurial and analytical professional to join our Commercial Operations and Sales Strategy team within the growing Peripheral Interventions and Interventional Oncology markets. As a Principal Business Intelligence Analyst, you will identify business process improvements, implement change utilizing BI tools, and deliver meaningful insights that drive better decision making for the business. This position manages cross-functional projects, conducts in-depth business analyses, and translates data-driven insights into actionable strategies that enhance organizational performance.
Boston Scientific’s Peripheral Intervention (PI) and Interventional Oncology (IO) businesses are advancing science for life by building a strong portfolio of products and technologies to serve patients globally while providing physicians and hospital systems with innovative solutions to treat patients.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Your responsibilities will include:
● Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and interactive dashboards
● Support ad hoc analysis and scenario modeling for strategic decision making
● Translate stakeholder needs into clear BI solutions, delivering insights to internal stakeholders
● Provide training and support to end users while ensuring data accuracy, governance, and security
● Recommend and implement scalable solutions that improve consistency, efficiency, and performance across regions and departments
● Lead or coordinate complex cross-functional projects from initiation through completion, ensuring deliverables are on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives
● Prepare executive-level presentations, briefings, and data-driven recommendations
● Translate complex analyses into clear narratives that drive informed decision-making
● Support annual and quarterly planning, strategy reviews, and leadership meetings with actionable insights and well-structured documentation
● Connect to, query, and integrate data from the Data Warehouse and multiple systems
● Develop and distribute sales analytics and reporting to assist field sales and leadership in tracking key performance indicators
● Maintain a deep understanding of U.S. PI Sales data, including the creation and maintenance of field sales organizational tools to monitor overall business health
● Identify potential selling opportunities within and across product franchises by monitoring trends, performance metrics, and relevant external data
● Collaborate with Sales Leadership and internal partners to develop and execute strategic projects that drive sales execution
● Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes used to operationalize go-to-market strategy
● Understand business impacts of moderately complex changes to the selling organizational structure and recommend appropriate system solutions
● Make strategic recommendations to management to improve processes and field sales support
● Support rollout of emergent technologies to selling teams and communicate technology needs and gaps to stakeholders

Qualifications:
Required qualifications:
● BS or BA degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field (MBA preferred)
● Minimum of 7 years' experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related fields
● Advanced expertise with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
● Proficiency writing and optimizing SQL queries for data extraction, manipulation, and validation
● Proven ability to translate business problems into technical solutions
● Experience with data warehouse platforms (e.g., Snowflake)
● Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, persuasive insights for senior stakeholders
● Demonstrated project management skills, including prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and timely delivery of analytics initiatives
● Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
Preferred qualifications:
● Minimum of 5 years' experience within the medical device industry supporting a field sales organization
● Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels
● Experience with Microsoft Power Platform
● In-depth knowledge of data modeling techniques
● Strong organizational skills and ability to handle work of a highly confidential nature
● Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities under strict deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and customer service
● Working knowledge of Agile principles
● Ability to translate complex concepts into simple, clear language
● Prior experience in Sales Operations, Finance, Sales Compensation, or Sales Enablement
● Continuous Improvement Mindset: self-starter with a strong bias toward learning

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
