About this role:
As a key leader in the Interventional Solutions Medical Education team, the Principal Clinical Education Strategist will develop and implement an educational strategy to support product education and therapy awareness for Health Care Providers (HCPs) in interventional cardiology. The incumbent will be a clinical expert in Interventional Cardiology procedures, including IVUS, atherectomy and complex PCI skills and will build and deliver educational programs and participate in educational initiatives to train HCPs through a robust curriculum including didactic, virtual, hands-on, case-based, and simulation methodologies. This role works closely with Clinical, Medical, Scientific, Marketing, and R&D colleagues in development and execution of education.
This is a field-based position with an estimated overnight travel requirement of upto 75% and will cover all regions across United States.
Your responsibilities include:
- Develop approach, scope, and methodology of HCP training to maximize impact by determining target audience, educational needs, appropriate methodology, location requirements, and other applicable factors.
- Define strategy, tactics, and support educational programs and training through participation in local educational programs and hands-on skills training, conventions, forums, Boston Scientific-hosted programs and 3rd party grant supported programs with a hands-on skills training component.
- Identify and partner with key opinion leaders (KOLs) including emerging leaders, expert operators, and educators to guide the development of educational initiatives.
- Lead development of new and innovative educational tools and modalities including models, simulation, virtual reality, etc.
- Conduct post-program evaluations of content and faculty and implement changes/improvements to materials accordingly, including perspective from attendees, faculty and BSC attendees.
- Effectively execute activities of major significance to the organization and represent Boston Scientific Medical Education at national and regional educational conferences.
- Evaluate customer educational needs and assess program effectiveness through strategic touchpoints with HCPs, cross-functional colleagues and field personnel.
- Maintain a high level of technical expertise and awareness of relevant interventional clinical data and technique innovation.
Required qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree and 7 years of related experience
- Proven experience in Field sales/clinical experience in cardiology
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with physician customers and sales teams
- Ability to train HCPs on interventional cardiology techniques and technologies
- Works independently, receiving guidance on complex and unprecedented problems
- Ability to develop new processes and adjust practices as needed to meet business or team needs
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% domestically
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience with supporting systematic training in a field/lab-based setting
- Strong project management and organizational skills; detail-oriented; methodical
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite; particularly PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to lift and transport supplies and equipment
