About the role:

Responsible for executing health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) analysis and effectively communicating results to key stakeholders as well as identifying opportunities to use data and analytics to drive business decisions. This is a hybrid position with the option of selecting the Maple Grove, MN or Marlborough, MA office. 

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, implement, and execute HEOR analytics activities for BSC working with divisional staff and key internal and external stakeholders to assist the health economics and reimbursement access (HEMA) division to support reimbursement and marketing of new and existing products.
  • Lead the development of various HEOR analytics projects, including administrative claims data analyses and analytic plans, selecting appropriate statistical methodologies, conducting data analyses using statistical analysis software, and interpreting the results to demonstrate value propositions.
  • Perform Medicare data analysis to inform key stakeholders on the impact of the CMS Medicare Rules and analyze their implications on the healthcare and the market access of BSC’s products.
  • In close collaboration with the Cooperate policy team, maintain and regular update all Medicare datasets and analytical tools to effectively facilitate proactive policy shaping in the Medicare space.
  • Collaborate with business teams to identify insights, trends, opportunities, interventions, and solutions that support the market access of BSC products.
  • Responsible for tracking all projects they are responsible for, ensuring projects are completed on time, addressing business objectives, and communicating regularly with customers.
  • Implement tactical planning activities required to achieve HEOR analytics strategic objectives, including designing and evaluating analytic studies, selecting appropriate data for analysis, ensuring quality of deliverables, and identifying the opportunities to develop and maintain analytical tools for the business.
  • Develop and communicate analysis outputs/deliverables through internal presentation and support the creation of analysis that contribute to conference abstracts/presentations and peer-reviewed published manuscripts.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Formal training in health economics, public health, health services research, epidemiology, biostatistics or related discipline (Masters’ degree, PhD, PharmD, MD, or related field of study).
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in health economics and outcomes research, preferably with experience working with new medical technologies in medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology. 
  • Strong communication skills and experience developing interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
  • Demonstrated success developing HEOR research proposals including statistical analysis plans.  
  • Demonstrated experience leading functional and cross-functional project teams, either indirectly or directly.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. and global healthcare systems including health technology assessment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of administrative claims database analysis through authorship on abstracts/publications and/or practical applications in medical device industry. 
  • Experience and expertise in using decision analysis software (TreeAge or Excel), statistical analysis software (STATA, SAS), and statistical methodologies.  
  • Understanding of global and US healthcare reimbursement, policy, advocacy, and market access landscapes.

Preferred qualifications:

  • History of peer reviewed publication/abstracts, achieved in collaboration with external Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Experience completing analysis and publishing HEOR in cardiology, urology, neuromodulation, endoscopy, oncology, and/or peripheral vascular disease. 
  • Experience using the Instant Health Data (IHD) platform. 
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions independently and to work in a fast-paced matrix environment with minimal supervision.
