The Braiding and Molding Technologies (BMT) business unit is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to support a rapidly growing plastic injection molding area. This role serves as a technical leader and subject matter expert, driving business development, operational excellence and new product development initiatives. The position plays a critical role in advancing manufacturing capabilities, scaling operations and establishing world-class standards.

 

Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
This role is fully on-site at our Maple Grove (Weaver Lake) facility, requiring daily in-person collaboration to support manufacturing operations. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Use robust problem-solving skills and engineering first principles to solve complex technical challenges

• Coach and mentor others in structured problem-solving and process improvement methodologies

• Develop business unit new product development (NPD) strategy and guide NPD core team members

• Serve as a core team member on new product development projects

• Adapt to rapidly changing priorities while supporting operational performance

• Manage business unit-impacting projects and ensure accountability for team-level deliverables

• Apply technical expertise to improve performance, reliability and scalability while establishing world-class manufacturing standards

• Serve as a technical authority in injection molding, providing expertise for complex challenges

 

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, biomedical, chemical or plastics preferred)

• Minimum of 8 years' experience in manufacturing and/or process engineering

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in plastic injection molding

 

Preferred qualifications:

• Advanced degree or certification in engineering, manufacturing, injection molding or plastics

• Six Sigma Black Belt certification

• Experience in medical device manufacturing and development

• Experience with mold tooling and part design

• Experience developing and validating measurement systems

• Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence without authority

The anticipated annualized base amount or range for this full time position will be $ to $, plus variable compensation governed by the Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives) as well as the value of core and optional benefits offered at BSC, which can be reviewed at www.bscbenefitsconnect.com.
